'Work in progress': Ana Navarro throws shade at 'The View' co-host Alyssa Griffin with elephant gift
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ana Navarro had a late birthday celebration on the set of 'The View,' with her co-hosts arranging for a special performance by the drag queens of Miami's R House Wynwood, where Navarro loves to visit.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the co-host had apparently picked up throwing shade from the queens quite well, as the political commentator gave her colleague Alyssa Farah Griffin a striking gift on her special day.

Navarro's birthday fell on December 28, when the show was on hiatus for 2023. The celebration on Friday, January 5, marked the occasion with the 52-year-old surprising her co-hosts with personalized gifts.

What did Ana Navarro gift her co-hosts?
Navarro brought a colorful sack filled with pouches emblazoned with African animals — one to represent each of her colleagues, reported EW.

"I was thinking of you all," she said to her colleagues.
It was when Joy Behar said that she wanted the one with an elephant on it, Navarro smiled and said, "Actually, the elephant is for Alyssa."

Behar was fast with her response, quipping, "Because she's a Republican, get it?"
Navarro started off by giving Sara Haines a giraffe, explaining that she's "head and shoulders above the rest".
Following that, Sunny Hostin got the bougie leopard and Behar got a zebra because she doesn't "change her stripes".
Finally getting to Griffin, Navarro remarked, "You get the elephant, because, God knows, it's a work in progress."
Relationship between Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin
Fans of the show have long speculated about the relationship shared by the two co-hosts, stated EW.
Though both support the Republican party, Navarro has been a vocal critic of most conservative politics during her tenure on 'The View' and as a regular contributor to CNN.
Griffin, on the other hand, had worked in the White House during the Trump administration, before resigning in 2020 and joining the show. She now points out the dangers of having Donald Trump re-elected as the president of the United States on the show, but often gets into disagreements with Navarro on various subjects.
Back in December 2022 during a discussion on workplace toxicity on 'The View,' Navarro had reportedly told Griffin, "I can't really get a word in without you attacking me. So, I wouldn't say this is a totally different environment of women supporting each other."
