'It’s going to be irresistible, heartwarming fun!': Toni Collette joins Catherine Hardwicke's comedy 'A French Pursuit'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Toni Collette is set to collaborate once again with ‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke for a comedy flick.
The ‘Hereditary’ actress has previously worked with the filmmaker on ‘Miss You Already’ and ‘Mafia Mamma.’ The movie is titled ‘A French Pursuit’ and is based on the French hit ‘Antoinette Dans Les Cevennes.’
What is the movie 'A French Pursuit' all about?
HanWay Films has bought the worldwide distribution rights and will be taking the project to the European Film Market in Berlin.
The movie is being produced by New Sparta Productions alongside Collette with her Vocab Films production shingle, as per Variety.
It is touted to be ‘a heartwarming and whimsical tale about a free-spirited woman pursuing love, only to go on a surprising journey of self-discovery.’
The comedian is playing Zoe Turner who is an unconventional and lively British art teacher and is in love with fellow rebel spirit Jean-Louis.
'A French Pursuit' team is excited about the project
As per ‘A French Pursuit’ official synopsis, “Zoe thus embarks on a daring pursuit of Jean-Louis in the picturesque Cévennes deep in the South of France. Accompanied by the determined donkey Napoleon, Zoe grapples with the absurdities and challenges of their journey.”
“Along the way, they encounter new friends and perils that draw them closer, prompting Zoe to reevaluate her priorities, confront her life choices, and rediscover her joie de vivre,” it added.
“Olivia has brilliantly captured the magic of the French hit film while bringing in new original layers to the story and character of Zoe, one she was able to collaborate closely with Toni and Catherine to develop,” said HanWay CEO Gabrielle Stewart, adding “It’s going to be irresistible, heartwarming fun!”

Toni is a big fan of now trending Taylor Swift, during her Eras Tour, she praised the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer.
