Despite waking up at 4 am for exercise, Wahlberg injured himself while running. “[I was] running along a hill where we went up the embankment and just jumped off a little rock, landed on it wrong,” he explained.

“I kind of snapped my knee back, and it tore, but when I got it X-rayed, the doctor was pretty adamant about doing the surgery," he said.

Explaining what happens due to which he has been advised to undergo surgery, Wahlberg said, "Because what happens is, if it locks, it can lock in a bent and flexed position, and then you cannot move your knee until they perform the surgery.”

Mark Wahlberg said he continued filming despite the injury

While the doctor suggested surgery, Wahlberg continued to film for the movie ‘Arthur The King’ which hit theaters on March 15.

“I just said, ‘You know what? I got to kind of try to tough it out and see if I can get through the movie,'” he explained.

Wahlberg previously told Fox News that his role as Mikael Lindnord was the "most physically demanding role" he's had in his life.

"I tore my meniscus the first day, and I'm producing the movie, so I couldn't shut the production down. I had to fight through," Wahlberg said.

"These guys, you know, adventure racers, endurance athletes, [are] incredible, absolutely incredible," he added.

Mark Wahlberg says his wife has become a fan of Kansas City Chiefs

Wahlberg, 52, who has been a lifelong Bostonian, appeared on the episode of 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' on Friday, March 15.

He spoke about his experience at the 2024 Super Bowl held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas where the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers with a score of 25-22.

He then revealed that his wife Rhea Durham 45, had abandoned the New England Patriots to support the Chiefs.

“I was there for almost till the first half and then I was home within 15 minutes cause there’s no traffic in Vegas,” Wahlberg recalled.

“Drove home, watched Usher, watched the second half with my wife, who has now become a Chiefs fan. She turned on our Patriots. She still loves the Patriots,” the Ted star added of Durham, 45. "But she definitely likes Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs which I completely understand," he further said.

He added, "I just don’t like them because they’re really creeping up on the Patriots really quickly when it comes to being the best.”
