MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Olivia Rodrigo, the Grammy-nominated actress and singer renowned for hits like 'Drivers License' and 'Good 4 U,' had a chat with Jimmy Fallon.

During the engaging interview, she provided insights into her life since her musical debut on the show earlier in the year.

Jimmy Fallon brings up the fact that he follows Olivia Rodrigo on social media but notices she doesn't follow anyone back.

Olivia playfully apologizes, expressing "If I was following one person, it'd be you, though, I hope."

Jimmy appreciates the sentiment and jokingly questions why she doesn't follow anyone, to which Olivia responds with a lighthearted exclamation, "No, you know, I try to follow zero people, because it helps me be off of my phone."

Consequently, Rodrigo shares an amusing anecdote about an embarrassing encounter.

She admitted, "I had this very embarrassing encounter once where I was stalking my ex, as one does. Sue me. Sorry!"

With her only following one person now, it became evident, that a friend alerted her to the mistake, advising her to unfollow him.

In a rush to rectify it, she grabbed her phone, but as she opened she revealed, "I went to open the Instagram app and the second that I opened the app, my phone died".

The singer continues the story, revealing that she ended up "so was just following my ex for a while," leading to speculation that her account was hacked.

She humorously acknowledges the situation, "telling people to be safe" amid the confusion.

The conversation continued with Fallon offering Rodrigo congratulations on her album 'GUTS' (released on September 8, 2023), expressing awe at its success.

He said, "You got nominated just now for six Grammys. Uh...You have three Grammys on your shelf already from "Sour," but how does it feel to be nominated for six?"

Fallon acknowledges that this is indeed Olivia's year, prompting discussion on how it feels to receive such recognition.

She considers herself the luckiest girl alive and shares a childhood memory of making Grammy ballots with her mom, predicting winners, and placing bets.

Rodrigo emphasized, "It's just -- it's such an honor to be included in a group with all these artists that I just am so inspired by."

 

As per the Grammy website, Rodrigo shared that her album 'GUTS' revolves around the theme of "growing pains" and the process of figuring out her identity during this stage of her life.

She expressed, "I feel like I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20", considering it a natural part of her personal growth. Rodrigo aimed to capture and reflect on this transformative period in her life through the record.
