'It’s totally a Travis song': Internet convinced Taylor Swift's 'The Alchemy' is about her KC Chiefs beau
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It’s still hours before the release of Taylor Swift’s much-anticipated ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ but one track from the album is particularly making the rounds of the internet.
Ahead of the album’s scheduled release on Friday, April 19, the songs from the album have allegedly leaked on social media.
The fans who got a chance to listen to the leaked album believe that at least one of the songs is about the music sensation’s current boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Fans think ‘The Alchemy’ is about Travis Kelce
Out of the mammoth album of 16 songs, the Swifties think that the song titled ‘The Alchemy’ is about the Kansas City Chiefs tight end who has embarked on a grand romance with Swift since the summer of 2023.
Fans claimed the lyrics of the song include references to football terms including touchdowns, warming benches, teams, trophies, and winning streaks among others.
According to the lyrics that are doing the rounds of the internet, Swift gave a loud shout-out to her boyfriend as she penned, “So when I touchdown, call the amateurs and cut them from the team / Ditch the clowns, get the crown / Baby I’m the one to beat.”
She continued in the same song per Page Six, “Because the sign on your heart said it’s still reserved for me / Honestly, who are we to fight The Alchemy?”
It has also been speculated that the pop star, who has been in a whirlwind romance with the NFL star and supported her boyfriend from the stands in 13 matches, has referenced the Chiefs’ winning the Super Bowl in February, as per Us Weekly.
Purportedly alluding to the Super Bowl win, Swift sings, “Shirts off and your friends lift you up over their heads / Beer sticking to the floor / Cheers chanting ‘cause they said there was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league, where’s the trophy?”
Hours later, the ‘Lover’ singer surprised her fans when she dropped the second part of her ‘TTPD’ under the title ‘An Anthology’ on social media.
In her track titled ‘So High School’, Swift seemingly referred to her lover as she chronicled the duo’s enchanting journey.
As the songstress likened falling for Kelce with being 16 again, she sings in the new track, “I’m watching American Pie with you on a Saturday night / Your friends are around so be quiet / I’m trying to stifle my sighs.”
“Cause I feel so high school every time I look at you / But look at you,” sings the enamored singer.
Her references also include the now-viral video where Kelce was asked to play 'Kiss, Marry, Kill' in an interview, where he replied that he would like to “kiss” Taylor Swift.
The ‘Lavender Haze’ singer sings, “Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me (Kill me) / It’s just a game, but really (Really) / I’m bettin’ on all three for us two (All three).”
She also croons, “Truth, dare, spin bottles / You know how to ball, I’m no Aristotle / Brand new, full throttle / Teach me while your boys play Grand Theft Auto,” while making a reference to Papa Kelce, Ed, “I feel like laughing in the middle of practice / To that impression you did of your dad again / I’m hearing voices like a madman.”

Someone else quipped, "I am obsessed. Travis got his first song!!"
Another fan added, "So the alchemy might be about Travis but people keep pointing out blokes is a British term for guys/men. The word was likely used to rhyme with Joke. Not every English reference has to be connected to Joe. #TaylorSwift."
