Ivanka Trump's video announcing meals for Ukrainian families resurfaces

In the Instagram video, Ivanka Trump shared that she and her partner organizations had delivered over 1,000,000 meals to Ukrainian families.

She directly addressed the Ukrainian people, saying, "You are in our thoughts and our prayers, and our heart breaks for what you are experiencing in this dire time. You have inspired the world with your courage and bravery as you fight for your country and your freedoms. God bless you."

Ivanka also extended her gratitude to her "extraordinary partners" who risked their lives to deliver meals to the most vulnerable in Ukrainian cities, as per The Independent.

Her message stood in stark contrast to some of the rhetoric from her family at the time. Notably, her father, former president Donald Trump, had praised Vladimir Putin's strategy shortly before Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

However, after the invasion, Trump shifted his tone, calling the war a "terrible atrocity" committed by Moscow. The resurfaced video sparked a wave of criticism and mockery online.

Ron Filipkowski, a well-known Trump critic, shared the video on X with the caption, "When Ivanka takes a break from her world travels and life of inherited wealth and leisure to act like she is Mother Theresa after doing a photo op, it comes off as pretty inauthentic and weird."

Art Candee echoed this sentiment, commenting on the video, "Ivanka Trump is throwing off some serious Katie Britt School of Acting here."

Ivanka Trump distances herself from Donald Trump's 2024 campaign

Ivanka Trump's reemergence in the public eye comes after she announced her decision to step away from politics.

In November 2022, shortly after Trump declared his intention to run for president again, Ivanka took to Instagram to share her decision to prioritize her family and private life.

"I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics," she wrote.

She further elaborated on her choice during an appearance on the 'Lex Fridman Podcast' last month, according to Newsweek.

"It was a decision rooted in me being a parent, really thinking about what they need from me now. Politics is a rough, rough business, and I think it's one that you also can't dabble in. I think you have to either be all in or all out," she explained.
