LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Shawn Mendes, the acclaimed 'Treat You Better' singer, has made a heartening announcement that marks his comeback to live performances.

After dedicating two years to focus on his mental health, Mendes is set to grace the stage once again, much to the delight of his fans.

When will Shawn Mendes return to the stage for a live performance?

Shawn Mendes, in an Instagram post, announced that he will be back on stage in Rio on September 22.

“It’s been a really long time since I last played live and I’m so excited to share that I’ll be headlining Rock In Rio on September 22,” Mendes expressed in a recent Instagram post dated March 7 with his black and white photograph gracing the guitar.

The anticipation of reconnecting with his audience in person is palpable in his words. “I’ve missed being on stage and seeing you all in person so much!,” he wrote in the post.

Since the release of his album ‘Wonder’ in 2020, Mendes has been relatively quiet on the music front, save for a few singles. However, he hinted at a thrilling addition to his upcoming performance.

Shawn Mendes got candid about his journey and why he wasn't ready for the tour he canceled 

Fans have eagerly awaited his return after a period of introspection and growth, especially following the cancellation of his Wonder World Tour in 2022 due to the challenges of post-pandemic touring.

In June 2022, Mendes spoke candidly about his journey, acknowledging the “highs and lows of life” and his commitment to mental health.

Shawn Mendes opened up on how mental health is becoming a priority 

He promised to return after a healing process stating this won't stop me from making new music. 

Mendes has consistently been transparent about his experiences as seen in his 2020 Netflix documentary ‘Shawn Mendes: In Wonder.’ 

“I’m also really grateful for all the people that were so accepting and loving and kind and understanding,” he told the Wall Street Journal in 2022. 

"It just really made me see how culture is really starting to get to a place where mental health is really becoming a priority," he added.
