'Jail immediately': Internet rips into Jonathan Majors as DA claims actor told ex Grace Jabbari to be ‘like Michelle Obama’

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Jonathan Majors, who is on trial over assault charges brought upon by ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, told her to live up to the standards of the likes of Michelle Obama and Coretta Scott King, Assistant District Attorney Michael Perez claimed during his opening arguments on December 4.

As per People, Perez alleged that in one fight recorded by Jabbari, which prosecutors plan to play for the jury, Majors allegedly told her that he wanted her to be more like Coretta Scott King and Michelle Obama in order to "conform to the plan and make sacrifices for him." 

The assistant district attorney alleged that Majors told Jabbari that he deserved the differential treatment because, "I am a great man, a great man."

Perez recalled how Majors, who met Jabbari on the set of 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania', wrote love notes to the choreographer at the beginning of their two-year relationship but soon enough "the defendant’s true self began to emerge."

He also accused the actor of engaging in an alleged "cruel and manipulative pattern of psychological and physical abuse that culminated in the tragic end of their relationship," including "threatening suicide" after their fights to control Jabbari's reactions.

Internet slams Jonathan Majors for asking Grace Jabbari to model herself on Michelle Obama

Social media users were quick to call out Majors for allegedly asking Jabbari, who is White, to live up to the standards of African-American women like Obama and King and to make "sacrifices" for him. 

"Jonathan Majors was dating a white woman straight from the mountains of caucus & was complaining to her about her not being more like Coretta Scott King & Michelle Obama," one pointed out. 

"Jonathan Majors telling his white ex-girlfriend to live up to the standards of Coretta Scott King and Michelle Obama is absolutely insane. Jail immediately," another user stated.

"No way Jonathan Majors told his ex she needed to live up to the standards of Coretta Scott King and Michelle Obama. Like????" one user wrote in disbelief. 

One said, "Yall told Jonathan Majors he was Civil Rights, March on Selma fine & he told his White gf that she needed to be more like Coretta & Michelle." 

"Side note: aww @MeaganGood you’re not trying to cosplay as Coretta Scott King & Michelle Obama are you? Bc he’s no Martin or Barry," the user added in reference to his current girlfriend. 

Meanwhile, another added, "This explains his hold on Meagan- clearly has convinced her she’s his ‘Coretta Scott King’ holding him down while he fights the good fight against 'the system.'"

What charges are Jonathan Majors currently facing?

The assault case against Majors started in March, when police responded to a 911 call about "a domestic dispute" between Majors and a woman later identified as Jabbari, per People.

In the complaint obtained by the publication, which includes Jabbari’s statements about her alleged injuries, the woman allegedly felt Majors "grab my right arm, place it behind my body, and use his hands to twist my right forearm and right middle finger."

The actor then proceeded to "strike me with his hand across my right ear" and "push me back into the vehicle using both of his hands causing me to fall backwards," the complaint stated. 

While no immediate arrests were made at the time of the fight, Majors allegedly called authorities nearly 12 hours later to inform that Jabbari was unresponsive in his bedroom closet. 

Emergency responders later took Jabbari to the hospital and arrested Majors.

The latter is currently facing charges of assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury, assault in the third degree recklessly causing physical injury, aggravated harassment in the second degree and harassment in the second degree, in connection with an alleged fight between the couple on the streets of Chinatown in March.

Majors has pleaded not guilty to the charges but can face up to one year behind bars if convicted of the allegations.
