WASHINGTON, DC: Rep James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said on Sunday, August 31, that it’s becoming apparent former President Joe Biden wasn’t the one in command at the end of his presidency.

Comer, who launched an investigation into the Biden autopen scandal and health cover-up, appeared on 'Sunday Morning Futures' with guest host Jackie De Angelis to discuss Biden’s mental fitness while he was in office. The discussion also touched on the weaponization of the Justice Department during his last four years in power.

James Comer probes Biden aides over autopen scandal and mental health cover-up

James Comer recently identified five Joe Biden aides who were allegedly involved in covering up the former president’s mental decline and the autopen scandal.

Several Biden aides have invoked the Fifth Amendment and refused to testify about Biden’s health scandal so far.

On August 31, Comer said he will call in Biden spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre, Chief of Staff Jeff Zients, and Deputy Assistant Andrew Bates to testify on the autopen scandal. "I want to get the latest on the investigation, Congressman, but also what we have heard so far, key figures taking the fifth," Jackie De Angelis said.

She added, "Key figures that day after day said that Biden was totally fit and ready to do the job now saying they really did not spend much time with him. The testimony does not add up with what we saw. Something is a wry here."

The chairman of the House Oversight Committee said, "We’re trying to get to the bottom of who was operating the autopen, and we have brought in a dozen people so far, and they are all pointing the finger at other people."

"The ones that I think may have a little more knowledge, they plead the 5th to avoid self-incrimination," Comer added.

He further explained, "It’s becoming very apparent that Joe Biden really wasn’t the one in command at the end of his presidency and that’s important because you are talking about thousands of pardons and dozens of executive orders that were signed with that autopen."

De Angelis noted that ten FBI whistleblowers had warned of political weaponization and said they faced retaliation from the Biden administration.

She added that this weaponization was not only directed at President Donald Trump but also impacted many ordinary people who were doing their jobs, with many lives ruined due to what she described as the Biden DOJ’s actions during the last four years.

James Comer claims Obama and Biden filled federal government with liberal activists

Comer said, "The government is comprised of an overwhelming number of liberals and an overwhelming number of activists."

He added that many people working inside the federal government under Barack Obama and Joe Biden were more concerned with being activists than public servants.

"During the Obama and Biden years the government numbers swelled of liberal activists that came in," Comer said. He further explained, "They had an agenda. They weren’t necessarily public servants. The ones that rose to the top were activists and these activists tried to weaponize the Federal government in various forms."

He also said, "Now we need accountability and I’m hopeful that Pam Bondi will take this evidence and her Department of Justice will start holding people accountable."
