Jamie Foxx has 'new respect for life' after health scare, says would never wish it 'on my worst enemy'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jamie Foxx returned triumphantly to the spotlight on Monday night, December 4, after recovering from a serious medical issue that left him unable to walk six months ago.
The Grammy-winning actor and singer was honored with the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association‘s Celebration of Cinema and Television: Honoring Black, Latino, and AAPI Achievements where he shared his gratitude for life, as reported by Hollywood Reporter.

Foxx, who starred in two acclaimed films: Amazon’s Prime Video’s 'The Burial' and Netflix’s 'They Cloned Tyrone', this year received the award from his 'Burial' co-star Jurnee Smollett.
Smollett praised him as a “true vanguard, a pioneer who has broken down barriers and inspired generations of artists like myself to be bold, audacious dreamers.”

The audience gave Foxx a standing ovation as he walked across the stage, as per reports. It was his first public appearance since he was hospitalized in April due to a sudden complication that also halted production on his upcoming Netflix film 'Back in Action.'
“You know, it’s crazy, I couldn’t do that six months ago — I couldn’t actually walk,” Foxx said at the beginning of his acceptance speech. “I’m not a clone, I’m not a clone. I know a lot of people who was saying I was cloned out there,” he joked.

Foxx then opened up about his health scare, which he did not disclose the details of, but said it was “tough,” and that he went into the tunnel but did not see the light.
"It was hot in that tunnel too, I don’t know where I was going, he said adding, “I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy, because it’s tough."
“I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art. I watched so many movies and listened to so many songs trying to have the time go by. Don’t give up on your art, man, don’t give up," he said.
