Jane Fonda says Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck trying to ‘prove something’ instead of enjoying relationship
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jane Fonda has some concerns about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage.
The ‘Grace and Frankie’ actress said in an upcoming documentary ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’, as per The Independent, “I want you to know that I don’t entirely know why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work.”
Jane Fonda is not fan of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s PDA
She further shared, “However, this is my concern. Like, it feels too much like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living it.”
“You know, every other photograph is the two of you kissing and the two of you hugging,” the veteran actress stated.
But Lopez disagreed with her as she mentioned, “That’s just us living our life.”

Jane Fonda worried about Ben Affleck’s ‘sad’ appearance
Fonda did not stop there as she went on to point out Affleck’s seemingly sad face at the 2023 Grammys.
The ‘Monster-in-Law’ star said, “I got real scared, you know, with all that s*** about the Grammys, and he looks unhappy, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, what’s happening?’”
The ‘On The Floor’ singer, however, added, “Nothing! He was like, ‘I’ve become the symbol of the beleaguered man.’”
Meanwhile, Fonda has claimed that she was not sure about making an appearance in ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’.
She told Variety, “I believe that everyone in the entire world is pulling for this relationship and this love. And the idea of how you present that is so sacrosanct, so important.”
“It should be handled in a way that you aren’t overly flaunting it, so much so that it creates any form of criticism or resentment,” the 86-year-old added.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s 2003 breakup reason disclosed
This came as Lopez revealed the reason behind her breakup with Affleck two decades ago before their reunion in 2021.
The singer reportedly said, “Our relationship crumbled under the weight of the pressure. We lost a sense of ourselves, and we needed to separate because we didn’t know how to survive it. I had to figure myself out, and he had to figure himself out.”
Following their breakup, they stated at the time, “Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date. When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realized that something was awry.”
The duo added, “We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised. We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families, and our friends.”
