BROOKVILLE, NEW YORK: Country superstar Jason Aldean delivered a moving performance at the 2025 Patriot Awards, held on November 6 at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville, New York.

The emotional evening saw Aldean and his wife Brittany Aldean take center stage as they paid tribute to the late Charlie Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder who was fatally shot outside Utah Valley University earlier this year.

Jason and Brittany Aldean were among the most prominent figures at this year’s ceremony. The couple joined FOX News host Jesse Watters on stage to present the inaugural Charlie Kirk Legacy Award to Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow.

Erika accepted the award with visible emotion, honoring her late husband’s dedication to faith, freedom, and the next generation of conservative youth.

Following the presentation, Aldean shared heartfelt words about Kirk, telling the audience, “Charlie was one of a kind and will forever be missed. Violence and division in our country have become way too common.”

He added that while Kirk might not have been a big country music fan, he deeply respected the values behind Aldean’s songs. “I don’t know that Charlie was a big country music fan... he was more of a hip-hop guy from what I hear. But I know he understood where we were coming from with this next song,” Aldean said before dedicating his performance to Kirk’s memory.

Moments later, the 48-year-old singer performed his chart-topping hit “Try That in a Small Town,” earning a standing ovation from the audience. The track, which has become an anthem of small-town resilience and unity, took on a deeper meaning as Aldean sang in honor of his late friend.

He is also expected to perform his emotional ballad “How Far Does a Goodbye Go” from his upcoming album later in the awards telecast.

Ahead of the big night, Brittany Aldean shared glimpses of her day on social media, posting an elevator selfie in an all-black leather outfit and a lighthearted breakfast photo captioned, “Wine/juice kinda morning.”

The couple has been outspoken about Charlie Kirk’s death, having previously posted a black-and-white tribute video of them performing Luke Bryan’s 2013 ballad about loss, captioned “For Charlie ❤️.”

Brittany also reflected on attending Kirk’s funeral in Arizona, calling it a “faith-filled and inspiring service” that showcased his powerful impact. “They keep saying live like Charlie,” she said, “so I’m going to really try to do that daily.”
