Jason Kelce claims there's 'evidence' he wasn't sleeping during Taylor Swift's concert despite viral pic

MIAMI, FLORIDA: Jason Kelce has set the record straight about falling asleep during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on October 18.

The Philadelphia Eagles star attended the concert with his family as his brother Travis Kelce's girlfriend is Swift. Jason's mother, Donna Kelce, and his wife, Kylie Kelce also attended the concert.

A photo captured by Jason Kelce's former Eagles teammate, Beau Allen, and shared on social media, seemed to depict Kelce dozing off.

Nevertheless, the football player has asserted that this was not the situation.

On the October 23 episode of his 'New Heights' podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Travis, Jason explained his side of the story.

"Kylie is holding (daughter) Elliotte," Jason said, referring to his wife during the concert.

He continued, "Ellie was just with me. We were dancing and I was sitting down, so I’m on the same level with her… we’re out here in the middle of the open," Today reported. 

Jason mentioned that they brought several people to the concert, as many had asked when they would attend one of Swift's shows.

"Mom went for the first time," he added, speaking of their mother Donna.

Jason Kelce admitted that being in a public space left him feeling self-conscious.

"I realize I’m in the middle of the open... I feel like kind of in a fish bowl. Everybody’s staring at me," he said.

To get more comfortable, he chose to sit down while still enjoying the show.

"So I just sit down. I’m dancing with Ellie," he shared, adding, "And then I’m just sitting here, and I’m just feeling it, and I’m like, ‘Oh!’ I’m tapping my thigh and I’m just in the moment, listening to the song."

 "Then, all of a sudden, I go on Twitter, and I see this f*****d picture. And I’m like, ‘What the f**k? I’m not even sleeping, and I can prove it to you," he added.

The former NFL player said proof lies in the photo itself, stating that his hand was hovering, something he claimed wouldn’t happen if he were sleeping.

"There’s evidence in this photo that I’m not sleeping," Jason said. 

"My hand is hovering. You can’t sleep with your hand hovering above your knee," he continued.

"It’s impossible, (without) major pain. I can’t sleep with my eyes open, much less my hand hovering. That’s because I’m slapping my legs," he said, “This is one of my favorite parts about the show, ‘cause the mist of the rain had just started to get into my face."

"Elliotte was with Mom so I’m like, OK, I’m just sitting here and tapping my leg and I’m just in the moment," Jason added in his defense.
