Jason Kelce reveals why his wife Kylie has to deal with their three children feeling he's a 'bad dad'

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Jason Kelce’s parenting style isn’t always welcomed by the women in his life.

The father of three, who is expecting his fourth child with his wife Kylie Kelce, spoke about why his daughters feel he is not a good father.

Jason Kelce explained how he tries to help his daughters overcome fears by making them face them directly.

“I keep trying to get my kids to ... go and do stuff, because I feel like that’s how I overcame [fears], you just go and do it and you’re like, ‘Oh, that isn’t that bad,’” Jason, 37, said on his 'New Heights' podcast. “My kids won’t do it,” he explained.

He and Travis Kelce recalled how their father, Ed Kelce, made them try different activities they were hesitant about, including playing hockey.

However, Jason noted that his own children react differently.

"It doesn’t work for my kids, though, they act like I’m being a bad dad by forcing them to do stuff they don’t want to do,” Jason said. “That’s part of being a dad,” he added.

While Travis Kelce supported his brother, telling him, “I respect it,” Jason Kelce revealed that his wife doesn’t always agree with his methods.

“Kylie doesn’t,” Jason said of his wife. “She’s like, ‘I have to deal with it.’ I’m like, ‘They’ll be fine. Trust me. Ed Kelce did this to me. It’ll be good. I’m just gonna spin this little teapot around,’” he said, as per People. 

Jason and Kylie Kelce are parents to daughters Wyatt, five, Elliotte, three, and Bennett, one. They are expecting their fourth daughter this spring.

Travis Kelce calls Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce ‘unbelievable parents’

Travis Kelce, who is preparing to play in the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, February, 9, praised his brother and sister-in-law as parents.

“Kylie and Jason are just unbelievable parents, great people first off, just unbelievable parents,” Travis said during Super Bowl week press conferences.

He also spoke fondly of his nieces. “Those girls warm my heart. They’re the absolute best,” he said.

He joked about the growing household, saying, “It’s fun that they’ve got another one coming in there, but that place is gonna be chaos.”

Meanwhile, Kylie Kelce confirmed that she won’t be bringing their daughters to the Super Bowl.

"The logistics of travel, school, and childcare were just too overwhelming,” Kylie Kelce told Today.

“They don’t also really watch football in a way that they would enjoy being in the stadium for the duration of the Super Bowl,” she explained.

“So in an effort to sort of just give everyone their best shot at enjoying the day, they will be watching the Super Bowl from home,” Kylie said.
