Jason Kelce shares one 'outstanding' parenting lie he’s sure to tell his children
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Jason Kelce isn't afraid to tell a few harmless white lies when parenting his three daughters with his wife Kylie Kelce.
The Philadelphia Eagles star, known for his humor both on and off the field, recently opened up about his playful approach to fatherhood during a special bonus episode of the 'New Heights' podcast, which he co-hosts with his younger brother, Travis Kelce.
Kelce Brothers flips script with hilarious 'dumb answers' segment
In the episode released on September 26, the Kelce brothers added a fun twist to their usual 'No Dumb Questions' segment. This time, they flipped the script with 'Dumb Answers,' asking fans to share the funniest lies they were told as children.
“We asked 92%ers to tell us the craziest lies they were told as kids, and you guys — of course, as always — did not disappoint,” teased Travis, 34.
According to US Weekly, Jason, 36, kicked things off by confessing one of his go-to fibs: telling his three daughters Wyatt, 4, Ellie, 2, and Bennett, 17 months that cats are “poisonous” to dissuade them from wanting a pet cat.
As the lies rolled in from listeners, Jason couldn’t help but add a few to his growing collection. One particularly creative submission? “If you swallow your gum, your butt cheeks will stick together.”
Jason could barely contain his laughter as he read the fan’s response. “I am stealing that,” he admitted, already plotting when to use it on his children.
“I don’t know when we’re gonna start letting gum go into these kids’ mouths, but I am stealing that. That’s outstanding.”
He followed up with some hilarious fatherly wisdom: “You don’t want your butt cheeks stuck together. That’s an exit that needs to remain clear,” a sentiment Travis was quick to agree with.
The conversation took an interesting turn when Travis questioned why parents lie about swallowing gum in the first place. Jason tossed out a few speculative theories, joking that maybe gum wasn’t digestible in the past, but eventually settled on the more plausible reason: choking hazards.

“It gets stuck in the windpipe, then all of a sudden, you choke to death. Bada-bing, bada-boom, you’re out a kid. Can’t let the kids just chew gum,” he reasoned.
Among the other amusing lies submitted by fans were myths about ice cream trucks, birthdays, and even turning on the dome light while driving. Jason eagerly took note, quipping, “These are good, I’m taking notes,” to stock up on more imaginative parenting material.
Jason Kelce and wife Kylie share humorous parenting myths
Despite their newfound fame and busy lives, Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie are reportedly committed to keeping their children grounded.
The couple exchanged vows in 2018 and welcomed their first child, daughter Wyatt one year later and the other two in 2021 and 2023 respectively.
As Kylie shared in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in June, the couple works hard to ensure their daughters remain humble. “First of all, we stay surrounded by family and friends, so we keep the people around us very close to us,” Kylie explained.

“Then, we make sure that anything that we’re doing that they feel supported by their family and friends and then also not really putting them in any places of privilege.”
“[We’re] trying our best to make sure that when they grow up and they turn 16, they will be driving a [used vehicle],” Kylie joked.
“We can’t let them have a hand-me-down car at this point. You’re not getting dad’s [Tesla] CyberTruck as your hand-me-down. You will be driving a basic model, hopefully, having to roll the windows down with a crank.”
