WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President JD Vance took a dig at the Democrats while gleefully weighing in on the controversy over Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad.

The vice president advised Democrats to keep the outrage coming despite no high-profile Democratic Party officials expressing an opinion regarding it.

JD Vance tells Democrats to keep the outrage coming

JD Vance gave his opinion on the viral campaign during his appearance on the 'Ruthless' podcast, a political commentary podcast by Josh Holmes, Michael Duncan, Comfortably Smug, and John Ashbrook.

He trolled the Democrats for the response to the American Eagle jeans ad while referring to Sydney Sweeney as "a normal, all-American beautiful girl."

The 41-year-old said, "My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi. That appears to be their actual strategy."

"I mean, it actually reveals something pretty interesting about the Dems though, which is that you have a normal all-American beautiful girl doing like a normal jeans ad," Vance added.

He continued, "They're trying to sell jeans to kids in America and they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing. And it’s like, did you learn nothing from the November 2024 election?"

Vance further said, "I actually thought that one of the lessons they might take is 'we're going to be less crazy.' And the lesson they have apparently taken is we’re going to attack people as Nazis for thinking Sydney Sweeney is beautiful."

"Great strategy, guys! That’s how you're going to win the midterms! Especially [with] young American men. So much of the Democrats is oriented around hostility to basic American life. So you have a pretty girl doing a jeans ad and they can't help but freak out. It reveals a lot more about them than it does us," the vice president remarked.

American Eagle's campaign featured the tagline "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans," a play on the homophones "jeans" and "genes."

However, critics felt that the ads were tone deaf for featuring a blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman as having "good genes," as many believed it to be a white supremacist dog whistle.

In the ad, Sweeney is seen saying, "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue."

White House rep Steven Cheung calls outrage over Sydney Sweeney ad 'cancel culture run amok'

White House communications director Steven Cheung said on Tuesday, July 29, that the outrage over the American Eagle ad was "cancel culture run amok."

The longtime adviser for President Donald Trump took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Cancel culture run amok. This warped, moronic, and dense liberal thinking is a big reason why Americans voted the way they did in 2024. They're tired of this bulls**t."

He made the statement in response to an MSNBC op-ed that said it was "fair" to condemn Sweeney's American Eagle ad.

The headline of the MSNBC article read, "Sydney Sweeney's ad shows an unbridled cultural shift toward whiteness."

Meanwhile, American Eagle Chief Marketing Officer Craig Brommers told media trade publications in response to the criticism that the campaign's "clever, even provocative language" was "definitely going to push buttons."

Moroever, Texas Republican Ted Cruz also took to X to blast the left for criticizing the ad featuring Sweeney.

He wrote, "Wow. Now the crazy Left has come out against beautiful women. I'm sure that will poll well…."

Internet sides with JD Vance as he blasts 'unhinged' Democrats over Sydney Sweeney ad outrage

Several internet users sided with JD Vance as he took a dig at the Democrats while gleefully weighing in on the controversy over Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad.

A user wrote on X, "The left is a lost cause," while one added, "No canceling Sydney or eagle!!!"

A person stated, "JD for the win!" whereas one mentioned, "Just when I think the opponents of sanity can't get any nuttier, they one-up themselves. I just learned that liberal women are buying American Eagle jeans, just to burn them."

An individual wrote, "No, they haven't learned yet, but keep pounding them with harsh truths. Eventually, some will break free and return to the real world," while one commented, "The leftists can’t handle beauty, patriotism, or common sense, so they scream NAZI. They are handing us 2026 and 2028 on a silver platter."
