WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President JD Vance recently spoke about his wife, Usha Vance, describing her as a devoted mother and a "wicked smart" partner who prioritizes their children’s upbringing over the political spotlight.

Vance emphasized that Usha’s preference for privacy and her intellectual ability to process complex information make her an invaluable asset to the American public as a public servant.

During a recent interview with Lara Trump, Vance was asked what he wanted the American people to know about the woman who is the nation's second lady.

Vance immediately focused her role within their home, highlighting her grounded nature. "I know her most of all as a great mom and a great wife," he stated.

The 41-year-old described her as "a person who supports me, who is so good to the kids, who makes it possible for them to grow up as normal kids."

The vice president noted that maintaining a sense of normalcy for their children in the public eye "takes a special skill," suggesting that her dedication to motherhood is her most defining characteristic.

Beyond her role in the family, Vance addressed Usha’s approach regarding public life, noting that she is not driven by fame or ego.

He told Lara that Usha is "a person who doesn't really care about the limelight who's not trying to sort of get out there in front of the crowds all the time."

Instead, he framed her involvement in the political sphere as a matter of duty, describing her as someone who "just wants to give her kids a good life and wants to be as good of a public servant as possible."

Vance argued that this is exactly what citizens should look for in leadership, remarking, "That's what we should want out of our public leaders and certainly they have it in our second lady."

Vance also took the opportunity to laud his wife’s intellect, describing her as "wicked smart" with a unique ability to process "extremely complicated and a large volume of information."

He explained that her cognitive skills allow her to offer him perspectives he might otherwise miss, adding, "I think that makes her not just a great partner to me but I think she adds a lot of value to American people."

Vance concluded that while his wife, “doesn't like to talk about it, she doesn't like to be out there, but she loves this country and I think she did a great job.”
