Jeannie Mai Jenkins refutes claims she's a 'gatekeeper' of her daughter amid custody battle with Jeezy
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jeannie Mai has vehemently denied accusations of being a "gatekeeper" in the custody battle with her estranged husband Jeezy.
The high-profile divorce initiated by the rapper in September marking the end of their two-year marriage has taken a contentious turn as both parties present conflicting narratives about their young daughter Monaco.
What are the accusations against Jeannie Mai Jenkin?
Jeezy and Mai welcomed their daughter, Monaco in January 2022. The rapper filed court documents in Fulton County in November as he sought judicial intervention to address his difficulties in adhering to their agreed-upon schedule.
As per the court filings, the one-year-old has been residing with Mai in the Los Angeles home since the 46-year-old Grammy-nominated artist filed for divorce, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Jeezy requested the judge to "address temporary custodial arrangements" after the schedule became "increasingly less feasible."
Mai is accused of "causing confusion and tension between the parties and is working to stifle the development" between Jeezy and Monaco.

The document requested that the court "separate, structure and clearly define the parties' temporary legal and physical custody rights and set a parenting time schedule consistent with the best interests of the child."
Jeannie Mai Jenkins' lawyers deny accusations regarding custody battle
Lawyers representing Mai denied their client is preventing Jeezy from any time with their daughter, as per court documents.
The filings claimed the former daytime talk show host gave her estranged husband every visitation date as per his request and also granted additional time with the one-year-old during Christmas holiday.
In the filed court documents, her attorneys also noted concerns for Monaco's safety. "It is essential to clarify that Ms Jenkins' insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecured in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers is absolutely not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible," the documents stated.
"These requests are grounded in Ms Jenkins' genuine concern for the parties' daughter's safety and security, especially when under the care of others and traveling across the country, and are reasonable protective measures, not an attempt to restrict Mr Jenkins' access to their daughter," the document continued.
