LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jeannie Mai has been accused of lying as she lambasted her former husband Jeezy recently, claiming that she was kept in the dark regarding the divorce filing.

RadarOnline.com, citing insiders, reported that the television personality knew the procedure was looming. The tipsters said that the couple had apparently consulted many marriage counselors before the rapper understood that their union was "irretrievably broken."

Jeezy said that his 'love and respect' for Jeannie Mai will remain while announcing the divorce decision

After filing for divorce in September, Jeezy said, "The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart."

He added, "Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart."

Notably, the duo tied the knot in 2021 in an intimate ceremony, and Mai gave birth to their daughter, Monaco, in January 2022.

News of divorce was hard for Jeannie Mai to accept

As opposed to the insiders, Jeannie Mai claimed that she got to know about Jeezy’s decision to divorce her "at the same as the rest of the world" on 'The Jennifer Hudson Show'.

She claimed, as per PEOPLE Magazine, "When I found out … that my marriage was ending in divorce, I was gutted."

The TV personality further mentioned, "Even though this year, I met the most broken version of me. I also met the strongest version of me. It was kind of hard, so yeah, it’s what I’m dealing with day by day, you know? I think I’m doing better now.”

Calling Monaco her "everything," Mai reportedly said, "She’s just my whole world... reliving my life and reparenting myself through this little girl has been the greatest gift of my life."

Mai even went on to disclose her Christmas plan with her daughter as she will reportedly take her to her hometown of San Jose in California.

She added, "I want Monaco to feel where I came from and to understand — like, my parents immigrated here, straight to the Bay from Vietnam. We had 15 people living in a three-bedroom home."

"And she’s going to be in that home and she’s going to see the bedroom that I grew up in … and the history of how our family came together," further added Mai.
