MIAMI, FLORIDA: The upcoming wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, is expected to be the "wedding of the century" as the billionaire is reportedly sparing no expense over the June event, according to Page Six.

Bezos, 61, and Sanchez, 55, began dating in 2019 and got engaged after five years in May 2023. He popped the question to the journalist with a 20-carat diamond ring estimated to be worth $2.5 million.

They will reportedly tie the knot in Venice, Italy, in the presence of multiple A-list guests. Sanchez is speculated to have chosen an Oscar de la Renta dress for her wedding, in consultation with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding will involve their $500 million mega yacht Koru

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez plan to involve their multimillion-dollar mega yacht, Koru, in their wedding festivities. The couple got engaged aboard the yacht and later hosted a party in Positano, Italy, in 2019.

It is the largest masted yacht ever built, measuring more than 415 feet in length. However, it can only accommodate 18 people sleeping in nine cabins.

A source told the Daily Mail, "The event … will take place aboard their $500 million mega yacht, Koru, anchored in the Venetian Lagoon." The claim has been contradicted by other sources, who believe that the vessel may be used as a water taxi or the venue for other festivities.

An insider insisted, "I promise you the wedding is not on the boat."

On account of the massive size of the vessel, Koru can only be anchored in the Arsenale area, which is apparently less majestic than other parts of Venice.

"All the money in the world cannot change those regulations," stated an insider. "There’s no way that you want to wake up in Venice and not be looking out onto the Grand Canal."

A local news outlet recently reported, "In preparation for the event, Venice is bracing for the arrival of VIPs. The city’s top luxury hotels have already been booked, and reports say the entire fleet of water taxis will be made available to shuttle guests across the canals. The logistics point to a highly exclusive, tightly coordinated celebration."

"Choosing Venice is more than a romantic gesture — it’s a nod to the couple’s shared history with the city, which they’ve frequently visited during their relationship. … The wedding is poised to be a defining social event of 2025, not only for the couple but for Venice itself," it added.

Internet is not thrilled with the upcoming grand wedding

Readers of the Daily Mail didn't hold back when it came to criticizing Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez over their extravagant wedding plans.

One wrote, "What a waste of money. It's a sin," and another quipped, "I'm surprised they didn't want to be the first couple to get married in space."

"June? Sucks, Prime Day's after the wedding. I was hoping to save some money on the gift," mocked a person.

An individual said, "Getting hitched in a vulgar display of affluence," while another echoed, "A complete and utter waste of money."
