WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris received the explicit support of Hollywood star Jeff 'The Dude' Bridges during a livestream fundraising campaign 'White Dudes for Harris,' on Monday, July 29.

The event which urged white men to come out and back the presumptive Democratic nominee was attended by numerous celebrities from politics to entertainment, such as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, North Carolina Gov Roy Cooper, singer/songwriter Josh Groban, actors Bradley Whitford, Josh Gad, Sean Astin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mark Hamill, and Adam Conover.

More than $4 million was collected for the joint fundraising committee Harris Victory Fund while the stream was live. According to RawStory, this comes after a similar event called 'White Women: Answer the Call,' which took place on Zoom and where over 136,000 people overcame glitches to donate over $1 million.

Jeff Bridges' endorsement of Kamala Harris

One of the early speakers in the live stream, Jeff Bridges, who is called 'The Dude' by his fans because of his role in the 1998 film 'The Big Lebowski,' stated, "I got a laugh because I accepted the invitation, I was brought to the party not so much for being White, (which) I certainly am, but because I am 'The Dude.'"

"So a friend sent me this email with the hat on there," he continued, referring to the campaign merchandise bearing the slogan. "And I said, I gotta have one of those. I am qualified, man. I'm White. I am a dude. And I'm for Harris."

"I'm excited man," expressed the veteran actor of the upcoming election. "I think the fact that Joe (Biden) has passed the baton so beautifully... and Kamala (Harris) is certainly our girl. I can see her being president. It's so exciting."

"A woman president, man. How exciting!" he added.
