NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jen Psaki, the former White House press secretary, has come under fire over her new book which makes false claims about the President's conduct at a serious ceremony, reported the Daily Mail.

Titled 'Say More Lessons from Work, the White House, and the World,' the book states that incumbent Joe Biden did not look at his watch during the ceremony at Dover for the 13 soldiers killed during the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. "The president looked at his watch only after the ceremony had ended. Moments later, he and the First Lady headed toward their car," wrote Psaki, labeling other contradictory narratives as misinformation.

Fact-checkers were quick to call out Psaki, noting that the President was caught on multiple news cameras looking at his watch at least twice while the ceremony took place.

While the author did not share any immediate response, she reportedly told Axios on May 13, that the future prints of her book would make the necessary corrections and do away with the wrong misinformation claim.

Psaki wrote that the "detail in a few lines of the book about the exact number of times he looked at his watch will be removed in future reprints and the ebook."

"The story on Afghanistan is really about the importance of delivering feedback even when it is difficult told through my own experience of telling President Biden that his own story of loss was not well received by the families who were grieving their sons and daughters," she added.

Gold Star families outraged over Jen Paski's 'dishonest' book

In a joint statement to the Daily Mail, the families wrote, "Jen Psaki’s claim in her book that this was 'misinformation' is not only dishonest but reinforces the contempt which Biden Administration officials have shown us in the aftermath of Abbey Gate terrorist attack that took the lives of our children."
