HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT: Michelle Troconis, a key figure in the Jennifer Dulos murder case, broke down in tears during her trial as prosecutors presented footage of her first police interrogation, where she purportedly declared, "I'm, like, so innocent."
Accused of aiding her then-boyfriend, Fotis Dulos, in covering up the murder of his estranged wife, Troconis exhibited visible distress during the screening of the interrogation footage. Notably, Fotis, charged with Jennifer's murder, died by suicide in 2020.
Michelle Troconis' mental state under scrutiny
Day 10 of the trial focused on the rigorous questioning by investigators in May 2019 regarding the disappearance of the mother of five. The video revealed Troconis being described as "a shambles" and "in tears" when arrested the previous day, prompting officers to question her emotional reaction.
"You were a shambles, you were in tears, you were upset, you were hunched over. Why would you be upset if it was only what you told us today?" asked an officer. "I’m upset about the whole situation. Why is it me that’s happening, this, when I haven’t done anything? I’m like, so innocent," Troconis alleged, as per Daily Mail.
Despite hours of questioning, authorities struggled to extract information from the Venezuelan socialite regarding Fotis and Jennifer's potential whereabouts. The footage concluded with Troconis hugging her lawyer before sinking to the floor, appearing to plead for help.
Michelle Troconis' shifting account of events on the day of Jennifer Dulos' disappearance
In another part of the video, the former TV host initially told detective John Kimball on June 2 that Fotis had "jumped in the shower" with her on May 24, 2019, the same day Jennifer vanished. However, Kimball testified that Troconis did not consistently maintain that narrative.
As the interrogation intensified, Kimball and Detective Corey Clabby asserted that Jennifer's disappearance was premeditated, with Clabby directly questioning, “Fotis killed Jennifer, OK? We know this,” leading Troconis to cover her face with her hands and to deny knowledge of her whereabouts.
When asked where Fotis might dispose of a body, she responded “Oh my God, I don’t know,” as per New York Post. "We think she might have been in the back of the truck," stated Clabby, prompting Troconis to bury her head in her hands once more.

In the previous trial, jurors were presented with disturbing evidence, including a blood-soaked bra, razor, and zip ties recovered from the garbage, allegedly linked to Troconis assisting in covering up the murder. In addition, disturbing footage showed, Fotis and Troconis driving in his Raptor on the day of Jennifer's supposed disappearance, making several stops to discard unidentified objects into multiple trash cans in Hartford, Connecticut.
Authorities claim that the pair disposed of a staggering 30 bags of items that day, and traces of the victim's blood were discovered on certain objects recovered from the trash cans. In one video, Fotis was seen tossing license plates into a curbside trash container while Troconis, momentarily leaving the vehicle, appeared to retrieve something from the sidewalk near a sewer grate.

Troconis faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, evidence tampering, and hindering prosecution. Prosecutors argue that Fotis murdered his wife in her New Canaan property after she returned from dropping off their five children at school, who were then aged between 8 and 13. Shockingly, Jennifer's body was never found.
