Garner and Miller have different personalities where one is a Hollywood darling, known for her roles in 'Alias' and '13 Going on 30', and the other is a low-profile but highly successful businessman. The couple have been together since 2018 and have attracted much public attention ever since.

A new report from Life & Style suggests that there’s some friction between Jennifer Garner and John Miller, mainly due to their different temperaments.
The Hollywood actress has a more intense vibe while the businessman is laid-back. However, these opposite qualities aren’t syncing well together according to the source.
A source close to the actress said, "Is Jen a little bit uptight and ‘Type A’ about everything she has to get done in a day? Sure, but most would argue that’s one of her best qualities, and why she lives up to her reputation as one of the most involved and serious moms in Hollywood."
The insider added, "The relationship with John came about because he is pretty much the opposite of Ben Affleck. He’s a relaxed guy with nothing to prove, not a giant ball of stress with a chip on his shoulder like Ben can be on his worst days."
The source also said, "The reason some folks don’t see this relationship going the distance is because of John and Jen’s wildly different personalities."
Despite Garner's divorce from Affleck in 2018, the two have remained on good terms to co-parent their three children - Violet, Fin, and Samuel.
Moreover, Since Affleck's dramatic public split from latest wife Jennifer Lopez, Garner proved to be an especially welcoming shoulder for her ex-husband to cry on.
Another source earlier told Life & Style, "John has shown incredible patience" with Garner and her ex "and that he’s really endeared him to Jennifer."
The source further added, "Privately, [John] has been known to find it a little bit intimidating that she’s still so close to Ben, especially when he’s reminded about their red-hot connection back in the day."
"He was exactly what Jen needed at the time,” the first source added, “and he’s been totally loyal to her, but it all comes back to how highly strung and intensely focused she can be about anything she puts her mind to.”
As Garner and Miller are on the verge of taking their relationship to the next level, the first insider said it’s a matter of the two personalities finding a happy middle ground as it relates to a hectic Hollywood schedule.
The source said, "John does have a tricky line to walk here between lightening Jen’s load and making her life easier while also letting her follow her intense ambitions, like filming a heavy-duty action role as a woman over fifty, which she just did this past year on Deadpool & Wolverine, to universal acclaim, in fact."

Jennifer Garner reportedly encouraged and advised Ben Affleck during a challenging period in his marriage to Jennifer Lopez.
A source revealed, according to Page Six, "When things started getting rocky between Ben and Jennifer [Lopez], Jen was very supportive of their relationship and encouraged Ben to work on their marriage."
Before Affleck and Lopez moved toward divorce in August 2024, Garner reportedly urged Affleck to work on his marriage. Garner separated from him in 2015 after a 10-year marriage.
She even became friendly with Jennifer Lopez during this time, with the two women “communicating on a regular basis.”
However, Garner has since distanced herself, with insiders stating that Garner "hasn’t been in touch" with Lopez recently but harbors no ill feelings.
The source said, "At the end of the day, she just wants Ben to be happy."
