After husband Nayel Nassar bowed out of the 2024 Paris Olympics due to ‘minor injury to his horse, The daughter of Bill Gates took to Instagram to express her "disappointment," but praised her husband for being concerned about his horse Coronado.

"The horse’s welfare always comes first. A huge disappointment to not be able to compete but I am still just as proud as ever of @NayelNasser and @Evergatestables," Jennifer wrote in her Instagram Story while sharing her husband’s announcement.

Earlier Nayel Nassar shared on Instagram, "It is with a heavy heart that I announce our withdrawal from the 2024 Olympic Games."

Jennifer Gates also offered "good luck" to the other competitors and said she and Nayel Nassar will be "cheering you on" throughout the competition.

Nayel, in his long post, further shared, “After successfully passing the first veterinary inspection earlier this week, Coronado unfortunately sustained a minor injury in the days after, and regretfully we must end our Olympic journey here.”

“This decision was made after thorough discussions with our veterinary team and the Egyptian Federation, and we all agree that it is our duty to prioritize Coronado’s long-term health and recovery,” the equestrian said, per People.

“As per the rules, no substitutions are allowed after the first horse inspection is completed, which leaves us no option but to withdraw entirely,” he wrote.
