LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Renowned celebrity event planner Marcy Blum recently unveiled a jaw-dropping detail about Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s since-canceled wedding.
Speaking on 'The Skinny Confidential Him & Her' podcast, Blum revealed that Lopez had considered booking Bruno Mars for the nuptials until she learned the cost.

Marcy Blum, the author of 'Wedding Planning for Dummies', recalled when Jennifer Lopez suggested hiring Bruno Mars.
“We were working with JLo and A-Rod before they broke up, and they were going through a list of musicians. She goes, ‘What about Bruno Mars?’” Blum said.
But the conversation quickly shifted when Blum informed Lopez of Mars’ staggering performance fee.
“I told her, ‘I just worked with Bruno Mars on another wedding, and he charged $5 million to sing for 45 minutes to an hour,’” she recalled.

According to Blum, Lopez’s response was incredulous, “‘Don’t be ridiculous!’” the 'Let’s Get Loud' singer reportedly replied.
Blum offered a rare peek into the extravagance of celebrity weddings, where seven-figure performance fees and star-studded guest lists are par for the course.

Marcy Blum, 71, revealed the details without hesitation, noting she had never signed a non-disclosure agreement while planning the ill-fated wedding.
Lopez and Rodriguez, who began dating in 2017 and became engaged in 2019, had planned an extravagant 2020 ceremony in Italy.
However, the Covid-19 pandemic forced the couple to postpone.
By 2021, they had officially called it quits, ending their high-profile romance.

Shortly after Jennifer Lopez's split from Alex Rodriguez, she rekindled her relationship with Ben Affleck, her early 2000s flame.
The couple, affectionately known as Bennifer, eloped in Las Vegas in 2022 before hosting a formal wedding celebration in Georgia.
Unfortunately, Lopez and Affleck’s fairy-tale reunion was short-lived. In August 2024, she filed for divorce from Affleck, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Reflecting on her approach to hardships, Lopez recently shared, “I think the way I overcome things is not by thinking of them as happening to me but happening for me and what is the lesson that needs to be learned in the moment."
“When I think of things that way and stay in a kind of a more positive mindset about it, it’s easier to kind of embrace it for the lesson that it is,” she shared during an interview with British Vogue.
