LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reportedly appear to be maintaining a civil relationship amid their divorce proceedings by having lunch with their children and displaying a subdued demeanor.

The estranged couple was seen dining at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday, September 14, entering together as their children eagerly ran ahead.

There was no public display of affection between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, not even minimal contact. The atmosphere appeared quite cold between them, TMZ reported.

At times, the pair seemed frustrated, with Affleck gesturing with his hands and leaning in close to Lopez's face as they walked in—a body language indicating dissatisfaction with his soon-to-be former spouse.

Affleck and Lopez arrived together in the same car, exchanging glances as they drove up to and away from the renowned hotel.

The intensity of the gathering is understandable, given that Lopez filed for divorce last month without a lawyer, and it has emerged that the couple did not have a prenup, making the separation quite complex.

Affleck's oldest child, Violet, was not present as she has reportedly started college recently.

The family event took an unexpected twist when Affleck's ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, was seen departing the hotel with her children following brunch. The outing came as a surprise as Lopez filed for divorce on the couple's second anniversary, as per Page Six.

In August, the singer officially asked a judge to revert her legal name to "Jennifer Lynn Lopez" from "Jennifer Lynn Affleck," which she had taken after marrying the actor in 2022, reigniting a romance from ten years prior.

Meanwhile, Ben Affleck, who was rumored to be spending time with Kick Kennedy, has moved into a $20 million mansion in Los Angeles. While, Lopez has been actively looking for a new home.

While false rumors circulated about Affleck moving on with Kick, Lopez was seen around town, showcasing her abs in crop tops and eyeing impressive real estate.

It's noteworthy that sources reportedly indicated that the two had not communicated at all in early August so a lunch meeting, even one appearing as intense as this, is a positive development.

That being said, it remains uncertain whether the two individuals will reconvene for another meal in the near future.
