Jennifer Lopez gracefully responds to Ben Affleck's compliment at 'Unstoppable' premiere
Without directly addressing her estranged husband, Jennifer Lopez replied with her signature poise, saying, "I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful."
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Sunday, Affleck, who co-produced 'Unstoppable' with his longtime friend, Matt Damon, praised the movie's talented cast, which includes his ex-wife, Lopez.
He said, "Unstoppable is a very different movie than this, but in a way, it’s similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists. It speaks to a certain kind of thing I guess we’re drawn to. We really believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved in it are deeply connected to the story."
"Jennifer’s spectacular," remarked Affleck, acknowledging the contributions of his ex-wife and her co-stars, including Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle, and director William Goldenberg.
'Unstoppable' is based on the true story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler born with one leg who rises to become a college champion. In the film, the 'On the Floor' hitmaker portrays Judy Robles, the mother of the protagonist.
Jennifer Lopez goes solo to promote 'Unstoppable'
The estranged couple has not reunited while promoting the film.
Jennifer Lopez has frequently been making solo appearances, and in fact, her first public outing after filing for divorce from Affleck in August was to the Toronto International Film Festival. For the occasion, she chose a striking "disco-ball" dress, with many dubbing it her "revenge dress," moment.
At the film's London premiere, the actress kept her look modest, donning a sleeveless white turtleneck dress and a matching fuzzy coat. She opted for a neutral makeup look and a simple hairdo.
Jennifer Lopez looks forward to the holiday season amid ongoing divorce
In an interview with People, published on Tuesday, Jennifer Lopez reflected on having a challenging year and expressed her excitement for the holiday season.
The mother of two said, "The holidays are such a special time for us, and they’ve always been since I was a little girl." She plans to host her mother, sisters, and twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony.
"And I really look forward to those moments when I can be with my sisters and just relax and have fun and create new memories," expressed the 'Dance Again' hitmaker.
Despite the separation, Lopez is still living in the $60 million mansion she and Affleck purchased in May 2023. The former couple put the house up for sale in July, though it has yet to find a new buyer.
Affleck, meanwhile, has moved into a rental property and recently purchased a $20 million bachelor pad.
