Jennifer Lopez ‘hopeful’ about salvaging marriage with Ben Affleck amid divorce speculation, claims source
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are fighting to save their marriage amidst swirling rumors of an impending divorce.
Insiders reveal that their recent time apart has only strengthened their love and determination to stay together.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage troubles
The couple, who recently listed their $60 million family home, were last seen together on June 2. They've spent significant occasions, such as Mother's Day and their second wedding anniversary, apart, fueling divorce rumors. However, Lopez, 54, is reportedly putting her work commitments on hold to focus on their blended family and rekindle their romance.
"Jennifer is hopeful about salvaging her marriage to Ben," a source told DailyMail.com exclusively. "She wouldn't be spending time with his children, acting as a mom to them, if she wasn't working things out with him."
The true reason for their recent separation was to reassess their relationship. "They've given each other space to think things over, and this has reinforced that they do love each other," the source claimed. "Jennifer has put work on hold to focus on repairing the damage that was done. She knows that she allowed her career and fame to come between her marriage at times."
However, the insider noted that Affleck, 51, has also made mistakes. "Those around her have assured her that she is not solely to blame as Ben is not a walk in the park either."
Lopez has reportedly been confiding in Affleck's ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, who initially acted as an informal mediator but has since stepped back from the "circus" surrounding the couple. Despite this, Garner remains in "constant communication" with Lopez and has "helped things tremendously."
Real reason behind sale of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's home
The couple's decision to sell their Bel Air mansion stems from not feeling "safe" or at home in the property. "Jennifer and Ben decided to sell their house because neither one of them, nor their kids, felt like this place was home," the insider revealed.
"It was too big, and the openness made them feel unsafe at times. Although they have around-the-clock security, something just didn’t feel right."
Affleck, in particular, never felt truly comfortable in the mansion, contributing to his decision to move out. "Ben hated the house more than Jennifer, so when things started to fall apart in their marriage he was just over it."
Lopez and Affleck's love story began in 2002 while filming 'Jersey Girl'. They got engaged in 2003 but broke up in 2004. They rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in a Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, followed by a lavish wedding at Affleck's Georgia estate.
Despite their recent separation, the couple plans to work together on upcoming projects, with Lopez set to star in two films for Affleck and Matt Damon's production company, Artists Equity.
