Jennifer Lopez is ‘sad’ but also ‘relieved’ after tour cancellation as she focuses on herself and family, says source

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pop sensation Jennifer Lopez recently canceled her summer North American tour, which was to be her first in five years, weeks before the tour was scheduled to begin. 

The pop star made the announcement on Friday, May 31, on her onthejlo website.

Now a source close to the singer-actress told People that Lopez is "devastated" to call off her summer concert tour. However, she understands the extra time to dedicate to herself and her loved ones is key.

"Life is a lot right now. As sad as she was to cancel the tour, she’s also relieved. She needs to take care of herself," says the source, per People. 

"The decision was something that her team encouraged," the source added. "Everyone is supportive of her focusing on family right now."

Lopez's This Is Me... Live tour was scheduled to begin in Orlando, Florida on June 26, with stops at Austin, Dallas, Las Vegas, Miami, Toronto, New York City, Boston, and other cities before wrapping up in New York City.  

After the 2019 It's My Party Tour, this would have been Lopez's first tour. She said in her own message to her fans, "I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary."

"I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again," added Lopez. "I love you all so much. Until next time."

The same source said that Lopez's marriage with husband Ben Affleck is "not in the best place at the moment".

Lopez and Affleck's love story goes back to 2002 when they began dating. They got engaged but they parted ways in 2004 before the wedding. They reconnected in the year 2021 and ended up marrying each other in 2022.

But rumors are swirling now that there is trouble in their paradise. It has also been reported that Lopez and Affleck are living in different homes in Los Angeles.

In addition to spending time with her close circle, Jennifer Lopez is currently celebrating the release of her Netflix film 'Atlas,' which debuted on May 24 and has already reached No.1 in 55 countries. 

'Atlas', a science fiction action film, also features Simu Liu, Sterling K Brown, and Mark Strong.

Meanwhile, 'Air' star Ben Affleck and singer Jennifer Lopez got back together on Thursday, May 30, to commemorate daughter Violet's high school graduation. Amid reports of marital conflict, this was their first public appearance together in a few weeks.

Affleck has been busy filming for his new movie 'The Accountant 2'.
