BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Tilly dropped the surprise of the month, and users on the internet can’t contain their shock.

The 66-year-old professional poker player and ‘The Bride of Chucky’ actress recently joined Bravo’s ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ where she dropped the bombshell that she owns a “piece of The Simpsons.”

On Tuesday, December 3, episode, the actress shared that her divorce settlement from ‘The Simpsons’ creator Sam Simon left her quite a fortune, including royalties from the uber-popular show that started in 1989.

Jennifer Tilly was part of a group trip to Oceanside when the talk of divorce started. 

Tilly, who received quite a fortune from her divorce settlement with Sam Simon, was married to ‘The Simpsons’ creator from 1984 to 1991. 

Later in the episode, she revealed that she still owns a part of the popular animated show that started airing on Fox in 1989 and still going stronger.

She confessed, “My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who created The Simpsons. I was married to him for seven years. We were together for about ten years. And then when we got divorced, I got a piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement, and nobody knew that The Simpsons was gonna go on for trillions of years.”

The ‘RHOBH’ star continued, “So, every day, honestly every day, I'm like, thank you, Sam.”

According to Daily Mail, Tilly’s net worth is estimated to be around $40 million, which includes her earnings from ‘The Simpsons’, reality TV, acting, and her career as a professional poker player. 

While Simon left the show in 1993, he negotiated a deal such that he continued to receive a part of the show’s profit - upto $10 million each year - until his death from colon cancer in March 2015, aged 59.

Despite signing the divorce papers in 1991, Tilly was close to Simon till his death and stood by his side throughout his cancer battle. The outlet revealed that in his will, Simon left Tilly 30% of his royalties from ‘The Simpsons’ as well.

Internet was stunned after it was revealed that Jennifer Tilly draws royalty from 'The Simpsons' which is still running majestically. 

One of the social media users commented, "I started this episode saying “Where has Jennifer Tilly gotten all this money??”, then she told us she’s spending Simpson’s money, and now I get it!! #RHOBH."



 

"“And then when we got divorced I got a piece of The Simpson’s in the settlement”. Period Jennifer Tilly!!! #RHOBH," said someone else.



 

Another fan could barely contain their surprise as they noted, "Dayum! A piece of the Simpsons. Jennifer is set for life.#RHOBH."

One fan wrote, "I didn’t know jennifer tilley owned a part of the simpson. that is the show that never ends honey. i stopped watching a long time ago but i know she probably makes enough money off that alone that she doesn’t really have to work if she doesn’t want to."
