Jenny Slate trolled for supporting Blake Lively after drama with Justin Baldoni escalates with new footage
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The ongoing feud between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni took another turn as newly surfaced footage from the filming of 'It Ends With Us' raised eyebrows.
Lively and Baldoni's co-star Jenny Slate is suddenly at the receiving end - a month after she expressed her support for Lively when the whole 'It Ends With Us' controversy broke out last year.
In the new clip shared with TMZ, Lively and Baldoni share a lighthearted exchange while rehearsing a slow-dance scene. Both Lively and Baldoni are claiming that the raw footage proves each others claims. So how does Slate figure in this?

Jenny Slate gets dragged into Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni drama
In the video released by Baldoni's team both of the actors are wearing mics as they are having a conversation on the film's sets.
The scene in the video features the two lead actors slow dancing. Lively reportedly referenced this scene in her lawsuit, accusing him of getting creepy with comments about the scent she was wearing.
Closer to the end of the video there is a reference to his nose, as the pair lean in closer and Lively says: “I feel so nosey, I mean, it’s just like noses.”
And he responds while laughing: “I know, and my nose is so big.”
The pair are seen continuing their conversation and Lively jokes that they need ‘to shut down’ filming for a time so they can ‘just deal with that’, before adding: “Just kidding.”
Baldoni later quips,"No it’s true. That’s why we hired Jenny Slate - our noses match.”
Slate played his sister in the film
Back in December last year, Slate came out in support of Lively.
"As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation," Slate said in a statement on Monday, December 23, to TODAY.
After this new footage was released by Baldoni's team, trolls have begun bombarding the social media accounts of both the actresses with hate comments. Not only that, Colleen Hoover, who wrote the book from which the movie has been adapted, was forced to deactivate her account recently.
Trolls hijack Jenny Slate's Instagram with hate comments
Slate's last Instagram upload – a promotional post with jewelry brand dated November 17 -- has also been innundated in the past few weeks with comments from critics and trolls who have accused her of siding with Lively and 'standing for nothing'.
Some users were direct in their criticism, with one writing, "You should be cancelled as well," and another adding, "Justin wasn’t famous enough so you basically let Blake and Ryan bully Justin to take over the film! Blake was always supposed to be just an actress on the film like you! How do you not see how this was wrong?!"
Others expressed disappointment in Slate's actions, with one user saying, "So disappointed in you, definitely not a fan of yours anymore. Unfollow. Team Justin!"
One clearly bitter troll wrote, "You know what the most infuriating part of all of this is. You sat there knowing full well that man was sent to the basement of his own premiere. Segregated. Yet here you sit with your platform all hush hush and refuse to acknowledge or disprove anything that has happened. The fact that you remain silent is sickening. If Justin Baldoni is in fact proven innocent, I truly hope karma comes for your silence one day!"
Fans of Baldoni also took aim at Lively's perceived influence, commenting, "Blake has so many puppets."
Another added, "I hope you never get treated the way you and your friend treated others. But one thing for sure, karma always knocks and remembers."
In another Instagram promotional post regarding her book from November 16, 2024, a troll wrote, "Maybe blake can sign off as author of your book? Rewrite and edit it. Then she can sign it too. So as an "author" how can you vouch for the silly one? Oh geez maybe because you are a follower."
The comment sections of her Instagram were peppered with admiration for Baldoni, with one user remarking, "And Justin still follows you. He is too good for all of you."
