NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'Modern Family' alum Jesse Tyler Ferguson experienced an unexpected Thanksgiving.

On Thursday, November 28, the 49-year-old actor revealed that one of his sons spent the holiday in the hospital emergency room.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who shares sons Beckett Mercer, four, and Sullivan "Sully" Louis, two, with husband Justin Mikita, posted a heartfelt photo of his son asleep on top of him in a hospital bed on Instagram.

In his caption, Ferguson shared appreciation for parenting wisdom from his 'Modern Family' co-star, Julie Bowen, who also had a similar experience.

"I have received a lot of parenting wisdom from @itsjuliebowen, so seeing I wasn’t the only one with a kid in the ER on Thanksgiving was comforting. (He’s also fine.),” Ferguson wrote.

“Thank you to the kind folks at Lennox Health. NYC really DOES have the best healthcare," he added.

Ferguson also posted a heartfelt Thanksgiving message on his Instagram stories, writing, "Thankful for friends who are helping us build memories for our kids."

Julie Bowen reveals her son’s ER visit on the same holiday

Julie Bowen, who played Claire Dunphy alongside Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Mitchell Pritchett on the hit sitcom also spent part of Thanksgiving in the ER.

She shared a photo of her son in front of the hospital, captioning it, “It’s not a holiday without a trip to the ER. (He’s fine, btw) HAPPY THANKSGIVING.”

Bowen, who shares Oliver, 17, John, 15, and Gustav, 15, with ex-husband Scott Phillips, didn’t specify which child required the hospital visit as the shared photo was silhouette.
