WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News host Jesse Watters claimed his sister's workplace was affected by the spending cuts pursued by President Donald Trump's administration, which has left his mother, Anne Watters, upset, during his 'Jesse Watters Primetime' show on Thursday, March 13.

The White House eliminated $800 million in federal grants to the Johns Hopkins University, a famous medical research institution where the journalist's sister, Aliza Watters, is employed, according to Mediaite. It is part of its effort to defund the US Agency for International Development (USAID) under advice from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk.

The move resulted in 1,975 people losing their jobs at the university in 44 foreign countries and 247 people from within the US.

During the show, Jesse Watters was accompanied by conservative activist Ned Ryun, who insisted that federal grant money in universities is "being used to fund leftists."

"And so, you take away that funding, and you begin to take away that pillar," argued Ryan, adding, "I hope they continue going down this path of not only yanking funding, I hope they go after their endowments.

The CEO of American Majority claimed, "Most of these colleges and universities are indoctrination centers of higher learning that are churning out leftists. And I think we need to have a really strong look at going after their endowments as well."

Watters sided with his guest before revealing that his sister's workplace had been affected by the federal cuts.

"Yeah, I just saw some news that Trump took some grants away from Johns Hopkins, where my sister works. And now my mom’s upset. She’s texting me. It’s gonna be a whole family thing. So, we’ll have to deal with it over the weekend," Watters shared.

A person shared a meme saying, "Have the day you voted for," whereas someone else jibed, "I hope his mum and sister remind him at every opportunity that he is complicit in this mess."

"Watters is a snowflake, now it affects him," chided an individual, while one more declared, "His mom should disown him."

"Ah, so when it affects him it’s not alright, but everything else so far has been fine for him," another person said.
