WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: The trial of Hunter Biden that began on Monday, June 3, has been attracting a lot of attention with many journalists, like Jesse Watters, commenting on it.

The US president's son has been facing three federal counts after being accused of lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, writing false statements on a form, and unlawfully possessing the gun for several days, as reported by BBC News.

If found guilty of all the charges, Hunter could end up in jail for up to 25 years.

Jesse Watters alleges jurors won’t convict Hunter because of Joe Biden

However, Watters believes that the 54-year-old businessman would easily avoid prison life.

On his show on Fox News, the political commentator reportedly declared, “It’s called jury’s nullification, it’s when you pick a jury that will give you a not guilty verdict. They know you are guilty but they just disagree with the law.”

He continued, “The strategy plays on the racial makeup of the jury which is mostly Black as well as Biden’s influence in Delaware where the hope is this jury won’t convict for a drug-related crime.

“Everybody in Delaware knows the Bidens. But that’s not all, the Biden family brought Mouse [Richard "Mouse" Smith] to court. Mouse is a Delaware legend. Joe Biden was his best man at his wedding. Mouse runs Delaware’s NAACP and has been involved in a community for decades.”

“They want every Black jury to see Mouse sitting with the Bidens. If you get the jury on your side, all of a sudden this case is not a slum dunk,” Watters added.

Jesse Watters called ‘vile’

However many on the internet did not agree with the TV host as an X user said, “It’s time Fox News gets sued again.”

Another user wrote, “Jesse Watters is vile.”

“I can’t even respond properly. I don’t have enough cuss words,” the third one tweeted.

The fourth user stated, “Will never understand why black people or minorities vote for Trump or Republicans.”

“Some people deserve that bolt of lightning we hear about,” the fifth one added.

A person noted, “Fox fake news and especially Watters are going for another multi-million $$$$ defamation  lawsuit.”

“Ah yes, waters makes racism fashionable @fuxnews,” another one asserted.

Jesse Watters gets some backing online

However, a supporter of Watters tweeted, “That’s not what he said, dude. He said that the Biden family is putting well-known people in that courtroom as a means of encouraging/intimidating the jury to decide a certain way. Not everything is about race, even though you seem to try to make it that way.”

The second supporter shared, “Glad someone finally said it. Though he had the reason wrong. I could see jury rejection like in all the other right-wing contrived trials we have seen out of the JD. These are BS charges.”

“He’s not wrong. It’s a bit racist but he’s right about the Delaware situation,” a tweet read.
