Jessica Alba calls it quits as she officially files for divorce from husband Cash Warren

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Alba has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Cash Warren, marking the end of their 16-year marriage.

The 43-year-old actress submitted the paperwork in Los Angeles County court on Friday, February 7, listing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.

According to court documents obtained by People, the date of separation is recorded as December 27, 2024.

Alba and Warren, 46, tied the knot on May 19, 2008, and share three children, Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, seven.

In her filing, Alba requested joint custody of their children and also asked for her legal name to be restored to Jessica Marie Alba, according to People.

Jessica Alba breaks her silence on Instagram

Following reports of their separation, Jessica Alba took to Instagram on January 16 to confirm the split and express her feelings about the decision.

"I've been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years—both as an individual and in partnership with Cash," the actress wrote.

"I'm proud of how we've grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years, and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals," she said.

"We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority, and we request privacy at this time," she added.

Signs of trouble in Jessica Alba and Cash Warren's marriage

Jessica Alba had previously hinted at struggles in their relationship.

In a July 2021 interview on Katherine Schwarzenegger’s Instagram show, 'Before, During and After Baby,' Alba admitted that she and Warren had been living more like "roommates" for years.

"It’s all rosy for two and a half years. But then after that, you become roommates. You’re just going through the motions," Alba explained.

"You have the responsibilities. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes, right?" he said.

She elaborated on the challenges of long-term marriage, saying, "We have, like, obviously the friendship, the comfort of, like, ‘you’re not going anywhere,’ and so sometimes you don’t treat those people the best, right?"

Despite their struggles, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary in May 2024.

In a heartfelt Instagram post at the time, Alba reflected on their journey together.
