NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Jessica Tarlov did not mince words while reacting to the Democratic Party’s newly released autopsy report on Kamala Harris’ failed 2024 presidential campaign, calling the document a “piece of crap” and accusing party leadership of spending money on what she described as sloppy and unsupported work.

The fiery criticism came during Thursday’s May 21 episode of ‘The Five’ after Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin publicly released the long-awaited report examining why Democrats lost the 2024 election to President Donald Trump.

Tarlov, who frequently defends Democrats on Fox News panels, stunned viewers with how aggressively she criticized both the document and the process behind it.

Jessica Tarlov says DNC made election autopsy into a bigger scandal

During the discussion, Tarlov argued that the Democratic Party further damaged itself by delaying the report's release.

“The time to look at it was a year ago, when it was available for release. They made it into a scandal when it wasn’t,” she said.

Tarlov noted that several analyses and election breakdowns had already emerged after Kamala Harris lost the presidential race to Donald Trump and suggested the delayed report added very little new information.

Her criticism intensified after co-host Joey Jones questioned why Democratic leaders waited so long before making the document public.

“Because it’s a piece of crap,” Tarlov fired back.

She then accused the report’s authors of producing incomplete work that lacked proper sourcing and evidence.

“I mean, the fact we spent our money on this, the DNC dollars that could have gone to, you know, knocking on doors or whatever else, on an unfinished piece of shoddy work,” she said.

Tarlov specifically criticized the report for allegedly making claims without proper citations or supporting material.

“There were no citations. It would be like, you know, X, Y, or Z happened, or this interview, and then no cites,” she explained. “You don’t know who said it. You don’t know how he came up with his numbers.”

Ken Martin admits report did not meet his standards before release

The controversy surrounding the report intensified after DNC Chair Ken Martin himself acknowledged that the document did not meet his standards.

“For full transparency, I am releasing the report as we received it, in its entirety, unedited and unabridged,” Martin said in a statement shared with CNN.

“It does not meet my standards, and it won’t meet your standards, but I am doing this because people need to be able to trust the Democratic Party and trust our word,” he added.

The release reportedly came after pressure from within the party, including frustration from Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro over the decision to keep the document private.

Tarlov pointed to Martin’s own comments as proof that party leadership knew the report would receive backlash.

“So Ken Martin had to go in and redline the whole thing and say on the side, in the brackets — what’s it called — in the margins,” she said during the segment. “He says, ‘No evidence for this, no evidence for this.’ So he didn’t release it because he’s embarrassed.”

Jessica Tarlov says Joe Biden’s role in election loss was ignored

One of Tarlov’s strongest criticisms focused on what she described as the report’s failure to seriously address concerns surrounding former President Joe Biden.

“You are totally right about, you know, Biden was not included in this essentially,” she said during the exchange. “Talk of him being too old, being shielded from the public, that is a central factor in why we ended up losing the 2024 election.”

Tarlov also criticized the continued involvement of Paul Rivera, the author tied to the report, suggesting his close ties within the party made the situation even more embarrassing for Democratic leadership.

“It’s his long time friend, this guy Paul Rivera, who, by the way, was still on the DNC dole until today,” she said.

When asked whether the report could have helped Democrats if it had been released sooner, Tarlov said the findings were neither surprising nor groundbreaking.

“We had this already,” she said plainly. “I learned nothing in here except that they hired an inept person to do something that was deeply important.”
