Jessie J announces ‘digital cleanse’ ahead of second post-cancer reconstruction surgery
LONDON, UK: Jessie J has decided to step away from the digital spotlight to undergo a second breast-reconstruction surgery and focus on her recovery after a whirlwind two years that included being diagnosed with and beating breast cancer, as well as raising a toddler.
The globally recognized pop star made the announcement on her Instagram page on Monday, September 7.

The English singer, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025, began her social media post by saying, “I want to start this post off by saying I am ok. I am not at my best but very far from my worst.”
Continuing, Jessie shared, “It’s no secret that the last 2 years have been magical, successful, life changing and extremely busy. I have loved the last 2 years mostly, hated it in moments and learnt the most I have ever learnt about myself and what I want from my life and mostly what I want it to FEEL like.”
The ‘Do It Like a Dude’ hitmaker then went on to mention the things she had done in the last two years, from releasing an album after an eight-year break to undergoing breast cancer treatment and embarking on a world tour, going through a breakup, and raising her 3-year-old son.
“The past 2 years have taken a toll on parts of me that I haven’t had time to give space and grace to. Now’s the time. Work has slowed down. So healing speeds up please,” she stated.
Jessie J prioritizes healing after cancer battle
Calling it “a digital cleanse,” Jessie asserted that she’s now stepping back from the public spotlight “for a while and into my real one. To give my mind, body and heart a well needed hug.”
The 38-year-old singer also explained that she’s taking a break to “finally have my second cancer reconstruction surgery, to recharge, heal, to rest, to process, to love on myself and my boy, to water the next chapter of my life and most importantly be present and really live.”
Concluding her announcement, Jessie added, “I’m posting this for the people who would give af that I haven’t posted or been active for a while."

Jessie J reveals emotional cancer-free milestone
This comes months after the ‘Price Tag’ singer revealed in May this year that she’s cancer-free.
“RESULTS ARE IN AND I AM CANCER FREE. I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year,” Jessie said in a video posted to Instagram.
