WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden convened his Cabinet on Friday, September 20, marking the first meeting of its kind in nearly a year.
The meeting also included First Lady Jill Biden who joined her husband at the head table. It was the first Cabinet gathering since October 2, 2023.

During the meeting, the first lady took the opportunity to discuss the White House's ongoing efforts to advance women's health research.

President Joe Biden also addressed pressing international issues, including the growing tensions between Israel and Lebanon.
He assured Cabinet members that the administration continues working to ensure the safety of civilians in both regions.
“We're continuing to try to do what we've tried from the beginning. To make sure that both the people in northern Israel, as well as southern Lebanon, are able to go back to their homes and go back safely," Joe Biden said, according to Fox News.
Biden also responded to questions regarding the possibility of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
"If I ever said 'it's not realistic' we might as well leave. A lot of things don't look realistic until we get them done. We have to keep at it," Biden said.
