On Monday, Duran appeared on 'The Tonight Show' to chat about the upcoming event and Fallon was clearly excited to talk about it.

The iHeart radio host said, "Well, first of all, you made all of us cry when we were doing rehearsal for this thing because I could see how much it meant to you."

Later in the show while talking about the event, Duran noted, "If you're in New York City looking up at the Empire State Building...Um, we play your song. They listen to it on the radio. And we choreograph the light show at the top."

Subsequently, Fallon stated, "I did. Well, I did because when I think of the Empire State Building, I think of New York City. It's a...I think, you know, before coming here as a kid, I grew up...I was born in Brooklyn. I was raised in Saugerties, New York. I'm a New Yorker all the way."

"You're owning the city right now Jimmy," expressed Duran.

As noted, the light and music display is going to be up every night for a week, starting on December 19.
