LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a characteristic blend of humor and critique, Jimmy Fallon recently encapsulated former President Donald Trump's apparent sentiments about the upcoming summit between Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un with one word: "FOMO!"

The 'Tonight Show' host's witty remark highlights a recurring theme in Trump's public statements and actions regarding authoritarian leaders.

Jimmy Fallon’s satirical take on Trump’s likely reaction to Putin and Kim meeting

Scheduled to meet in Pyongyang, Putin and Kim's summit prompted Fallon to joke about Trump's likely reaction.

This jab at Trump's admiration of strongman leaders resonates with the ongoing narrative surrounding his affinity for authoritarian regimes despite international criticism.

Throughout his presidency, Trump often praised Putin and Kim, despite their repressive regimes and history of human rights abuses.

"I read that tomorrow, for the first time in nearly 25 years, Vladimir Putin is making a state visit to North Korea. Putin and Kim Jong-un also meeting up Voldemort, the Penguin, and Bowser from Super Mario Brothers. Yeah, it's -- It's a big visit right now. Kim Jong-un's deciding whether he should dress like Morpheus from 'The Matrix' or Summer Diane Keaton. In response to Putin... In response to Putin get together with Kim Jong-un, President Biden said... While Trump was like, ‘FOMO!’”

The upcoming summit marks Putin's first visit to North Korea in nearly a quarter-century, signifying a significant diplomatic event in East Asia.

Diverse reactions to Fallon’s political commentary

In response to Jimmy Fallon's satire on Trump's admiration of dictators, social media users expressed a range of sentiments reflecting divided opinions on late-night comedy and its political implications.

One user wrote, "I’m glad they don’t joke about Biden. That would make me sad."

Another said, "Jimmy Fallon, still pretending like he had absolutely nothing to do with Trump’s rise to power. 🙄🤮"

One said, "Fallon is right abut Trump craving the spotlight and feeling "left out" when he is not the center of attention.... HOWEVER....the word I think CLEARLY describes Trump's admiration of Dictators is Jealousy. Trump has always wanted to be able to imprison his political opponents like Dictators do and show off the power of the US military as HIS power. being greater than the power of other Dictators."

One user replied, "Trump likes them because they have what he wants for himself, unquestioned and unrestricted power."

One added, "The 2024 election could be America's last."

One said, "Stay out of politics Jimmy and find something to talk about besides Trump. If is getting old."

Another user wrote, "Jimmy Fallon is an ungrown child, how did he got to host a tv show."
