LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) lashed out at former President Donald Trump, accusing him of being "palsy-walsy" with Russian President Vladimir Putin and lambasting his lukewarm stance on assisting Ukraine.

During her appearance on MSNBC's 'Andrea Mitchell Reports', the former speaker condemned the ex-POTUS' suggestion that "Europe should step up" to support Ukraine financially and “equalize" with the US.

Nancy Pelosi says Donald Trump's stance on Ukraine aid points to his lack of commitment to democracy

Pelosi noted, "It's just indicative of how irresponsible he has been on this because he’s palsy-walsy, for some reason, with Putin. For him to say that shows his lack of knowledge, his lack of values, and quite frankly, his lack of commitment to democracy."

Trump's stance on the US providing additional assistance to Ukraine in its war against Russia has had a significant impact on his allies in Congress, making passage of Ukraine aid in the Republican-controlled House difficult.

"What happened in the Congress in the United States is heartbreaking. It’s sad," lamented the 84-year-old, attributing the delay in providing aid to Ukraine to Trump's influence and highlighting concerns raised by GOP lawmakers about Russian propaganda infiltrating their ranks.

House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Turner (Ohio) and Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul (Texas) both expressed worries about pro-Russia messaging within the Republican caucus.

Earlier in April, Turner said, "We see, directly coming from Russia, attempts to mask communications that are anti-Ukraine and pro-Russia messages, some of which we even hear being uttered on the House floor."

Responding to those concerns, Pelosi said, "That’s an indication of their candidate for president of the United States." She didn't mince words when linking Trump to Putin, stating, "As I’ve always said, with him, all roads lead to Putin."

Pelosi's comments coincide with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La) unveiling legislative text for bills combining military assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and allies in the Indo-Pacific with humanitarian aid for Gaza and other global hot spots, The Hill reported.

Although Pelosi hadn't reviewed the bills, she appeared to support Johnson's approach, emphasizing the urgency of providing aid to Ukraine. She remarked, "It’s really a tragedy that it has taken this long, but I’m so glad — I won’t say glad — but at long last, it has happened," adding, "Nothing less is at stake than our democracy."

Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) introduced a motion to oust Johnson from the speakership.

Pelosi hinted at support for Johnson, urging him to prioritize passing Ukraine aid over retaining his position.

"We come to Washington, come to Congress, to do a job, not to keep a job. I wish the Speaker well. If in fact, he is going to be at risk in his job so that we can save democracy in Ukraine, that’s — any one of us would make that trade," asserted the former speaker.

Internet reacts to Nancy Pelosi's remarks regarding Donald Trump

One wrote, "Just so pathetic to continue on with the Russia bit. Can’t they come up with anything else?" and another added, "Sounds like grounds for a defamation lawsuit."

A person alleged, "Look who is talking. She and Biden got filthy rich by making deals with our enemies. Trump was already wealthy and built his empire. That f n b word."

Someone else exclaimed, "She’s the head of the snake!"
