SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: A video released this week showing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi angrily telling pro-Palestine protesters to "go back to China" outside her San Francisco home. This has sparked criticism across social media platforms.

The clip, filmed in October 2023, captures a tense exchange between Nancy and chanting demonstrators as she attempts to get into her vehicle. The video comes on the heels of Nancy connecting similar pro-Palestine demonstrators with Russian influence, sparking further backlash, as reported by The Daily Mail.

The video, released on Tuesday, January 30, by the activist group Code Pink, shows Nancy walking to her vehicle as protesters chant "Pelosi is allowing the murder of thousands of people" and "ceasefire now" in an apparent reference to US support for Israel amid clashes with Palestinians.

A visibly frustrated Nancy then snaps at the protesters saying "go back to China, where your headquarters are". Her comment was an apparent reference to a New York Times article that month linking Code Pink to a suspected Chinese foreign influence operation.

Nancy later doubled down on her suspicions about the protesters' backers, telling CNN this week that demonstrators frequently gather outside her home. "I have a feeling for what feelings they have," she said. "But we have to think about what we're doing."

She then added: "For them to call for a cease-fire is Mr. Putin's message...Some, I think, are connected to Russia."

Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul was seriously injured at home by an intruder

Nancy's irritation with protesters outside her home comes amid heightened security concerns following an attack on her husband, Paul Pelosi, in October 2022 by an intruder who broke into their house.

Paul was beaten with a hammer and seriously injured by 42-year-old David DePape, who faces state and federal charges, including attempted murder. The disturbing attack raised questions about protection for Congressional leaders and led to ramped up security measures at the Pelosi residence in San Francisco.

But it has not deterred protesters from frequently gathering outside the home to voice a variety of political grievances with the former House Speaker as well as other Congressional leaders.
