'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and 'Adam DeVine’s House Party' fame stand-up comedian Neel Nanda dies at 32
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: Stand-up comedian Neel Nanda, who made appearances on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and Comedy Central’s 'Adam DeVine’s House Party,' has reportedly died at the age of 32.
The tragic news was first confirmed by Nanda’s manager, Greg Weiss, to several outlets including Deadline and Variety on Sunday, December 24.
As of now, the cause of Nanda's death has not been disclosed. Weiss expressed his deep shock and sadness, stating, "He was a wonderful comic, but a better person. He had the world in front of him," in a statement via Deadline.
Weiss also described Nanda as a “great comic” and “great human being," per Variety.

Nanda performed a five-minute set on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' in 2017
The LA-based Nanda performed a five-minute set on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' in 2017, USA Today reported.
His other appearances included 'Adam DeVine’s House Party' and 'Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents' from this past January.
According to the biography on his website, Nanda has also guested on MTV, IFC's 'Garfunkel and Oates', and Amazon Prime’s 'Inside Joke.'
Nanda has been a fan of comedy since childhood
As per a 2018 profile featured in the VC Reporter, Nanda, born in Atlanta, had parents who emigrated from India.
His affinity for comedy traced back to childhood when he would record jokes from Comedy Central in a notebook and then share them with classmates.

“I didn’t realize I was stealing jokes until I was in high school,” Nanda told the VC Reporter.
“When I was in high school I started writing my own jokes using the structure of some of the jokes I had previously stolen. I filled up a notebook of jokes and didn’t realize until college that I could go to an open mic and tell them," he added.
Nanda further stated, "I actually had a friend read the notebook and tell me, ‘You know you can just go perform these, right?’ I didn’t know, but after a quick Google search I was off to the Laughing Skull open mic.”

Nanda on his greatest accomplishment in his career
In addition to noting that he keeps his comedy "personable and relatable," Nanda, during that period, considered his appearance on Kimmel as the greatest accomplishment of his comedy career up to that point.

“I’ve always wanted to do a set on late night, and Jimmy Kimmel was my first choice,” he said, per the VC Reporter.
“So the fact that it came together kind of blew my mind. I’ve performed on other networks like Comedy Central, Hulu, Viceland, etc, but Jimmy Kimmel was the first place I performed where my parents were a fan of the host,” he added.
According to his website, his most recent appearance was scheduled for December 15 and 16 at Toronto’s Jokers Theatre and Comedy Club, billed as his last headlining show of this year.

Nanda’s fellow comics paid tribute to him
Following the news of his death, fellow comedians paid tribute to Nanda on social media.
“I didn’t know Neel Nanda personally but reading several tributes is both heartbreaking and eye-opening,” Dane Cook wrote on X.
