Jimmy Kimmel takes a dig at Trump over Melania’s absence on campaign trail, says ‘we haven't seen her’

WASHINGTON, DC: Jimmy Kimmel took potshots at Donald Trump during the Monday, September 9, episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

The television host mentioned Melania’s absence from Trump’s campaign rally, as per HuffPost.



 

He sarcastically said, “Melania was on the campaign trail this weekend with her husband,” before noting, “Just kidding! We haven’t seen her for weeks.”

Melania Trump promotes memoir through videos

Former first lady Melania Trump was seen a few days ago in two video promotions of her upcoming memoir, ‘Melania’, which will hit the shelves in October.

As per CNN, in the black and white clip, the former model shared on September 5, “Writing this memoir has been a deeply and reflective journey for me. As a private person who has often been the subject of public scrutiny and misrepresentation, I feel a responsibility to clarify the facts.”



 

“I believe it is important to share my perspective: the truth,” before the screen shows: “My Story. My Perspective. The Truth.”

Jimmy Kimmel mocks Melania Trump over 'gasoline' comment

In another post shared on September 8, Melania Trump revealed, “The 2020 election results changed our lives forever. It impacted our quality of life, cost of food, gasoline, safety, and even the geopolitical landscape.”

Referring to her last sentence, Kimmel remarked on his show, “When was the last time you think Melania pumped gasoline? Nineteen-ninety-never, maybe.”

The 56-year-old comedian also signaled that Melania’s unreleased book is at number 2 on the Amazon bestseller list. However, Trump’s released book ‘Save America’ is at number 269.

“It’s a good thing they have a rock-solid relationship. Because a lot of couples, this is the sort of thing that could result in tumult,” Kimmel added.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump has kept a low profile and has hardly been seen in husband Donald Trump's campaign rallies.

However, she broke her silence after the July 13 assassination attempt on him.

“When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life were on the brink of devastating change. I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband,” she reportedly said.

The mother-of-one stated, “To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering from this heinous act, I humbly offer my sincerest sympathy. Your need to summon your inner strength for such a terrible reason saddens me.”

Melania also mentioned, “The winds of change have arrived. For those of you who cry in support, I thank you. I commend those of you who have reached out beyond the political divide – thank you for remembering that every single politician is a man or a woman with a loving family.”
