NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Voters who detest both Joe Biden and Donald Trump do not think the current president will be reelected and say that the former president's conviction in New York will not influence their choice in November.

'The Undecideds', a focus group featuring voters from swing states Georgia and North Carolina, was organized by 2WAY in collaboration with Wick Insights on June 2, 2024, to discuss Trump's conviction.

The voters who participated in the project were called 'double haters'

The voters who took part in the project are referred to as "double haters" because they are unsure of their vote and don't want either candidate to win. Five of the seven voters who spoke with journalist Mark Halperin expressed confidence that Trump would win the next election while the remaining were unsure. None of the participants, though, predicted that Biden would win.

'Donald Trump’s definitely going to win' said one voter

"Trump’s definitely going to win," one male voter said, according to Fox News. "Covid's over. That’s why he lost," the user added. "I can’t necessarily say Trump is going to win," a female voter said. "However, I feel like some of the people who were voting for Biden four years ago are definitely on the fence now," added one.

Donald Trump verdict unlikely to have a significant impact on Americans

The focus group's opinions aligned with recent polls that indicated Americans planning to cast votes in November are not expected to be significantly impacted by the Trump verdict. A jury found that Trump had committed 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with his payment of hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels.

None of the focus group participants said the conviction would affect their vote in any meaningful way.

Voters think Donald Trump's hush money trial was politically motivated

Furthermore, the voters denied the notion that Trump was treated unfairly, even though they did think the trial's timing was politically motivated. They also said they did not believe the judge was biased. "I feel like he was treated fairly. I feel like he actually got away with saying a lot of disparaging things, not only about the jurors, but the judge," one participant said.

"I have a hard time believing that there were that many jurors agreed upon that were all in on ‘he’s not guilty, but we’re going to find him guilty just for kicks.’ So, I don’t think it was a major crime from what I understand. But at the same time, I think that he got caught doing — he or his campaign crew got caught doing something dumb," another said.

The participants acknowledged that they did not fully comprehend the accusations made against the former president, but they also said they did not think the crimes he committed were serious.

Voters think Donald Trump would not quit the presidential race following his conviction

All of the focus group participants, with the exception of one, thought that Trump would not and should not withdraw from the race due to his conviction. "I think it’s too late," one female voter said. "I mean, he pretty much kind of railroaded everybody else into not really being his competition. So, it’s like, it’s him or pretty much nobody," another added.

Internet says 'more and more people are waking up'

Netizens also double down on the voters' sentiments as they consider Trump to be a better choice than Joe Biden. 'Exactly bccs no sane person will ever vote for Biden!' tweeted a user and another wrote, "When discussing the American public noticing the continued decline of Bidens' mental acuity, Senator Chris Coons states it's important to focus on his integrity rather than an occasional verbal misstep when in public. How does lying fit into his definition of integrity?!"

"You mean the NY Fascist Democrat Tyrant’s political persecution?" asked one while another chimed in, "Honestly, this isn't surprising. People who dislike both candidates aren't going to change their minds because of one court case." "All I can say is more and more people are waking up and not voting for Biden," opined one.
