WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden is reportedly "seething" at Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) following a surge of Democratic voices, including some of her key allies, urging him to reconsider his reelection bid.

Concerns over Biden's electability and governance capabilities have fueled these calls, according to CNN.

Network anchor Kaitlan Collins reported that Biden is particularly upset that Pelosi, his long-time ally in Washington, has not come to his defense as the chorus of calls for him to step aside grows louder, with the election just over three months away.

Adding to Biden's frustrations, Politico reported that Pelosi is not against the idea of an open convention, where the Democratic Party could choose a candidate other than Biden.

During a meeting with fellow California Democrats, the former Speaker reportedly stressed the need for a transparent process to select the party's next nominee, should Biden decide to step aside. Such an approach aims to avoid the perception of a Kamala Harris coronation.

The meeting took place on July 10 at the Capitol and involved 40 members of the California delegation. The discussions partly focused on the potential steps the Democratic Party would need to take if Biden were to exit the race.

Specifically, the political downsides of swiftly appointing Vice President Harris as the nominee were considered. Four individuals familiar with the discussion, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, revealed these to Politico.

In addition to Pelosi's implied support for an open convention, her ally, Representative Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), publicly urged Biden to drop out of the race, citing a "trajectory to lose."

Speaking on MSNBC, Lofgren advocated for a "transparent public process" and suggested that, should Biden withdraw, swift action would be necessary.  “Should he make that decision, there will have to be quick steps. I don’t think we can do a coronation, but obviously, the vice president would be the leading candidate,” Lofgren said.

She proposed a "mini primary," potentially hosted by former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

The concept of a "blitz primary" has gained traction among House Democrats, particularly within the California delegation. Initially suggested by individuals close to the Obama administration, this idea, however, has faced skepticism from others in the party due to the limited time before the convention.

Another discussed option is positioning Harris as the strong front-runner while maintaining an open process. This scenario would assume that few, if any, viable Democrats would challenge her, fearing ostracism.

Notably, Democratic Governors Gavin Newsom of California and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan have recently stated they would not run against Harris.

During a recent broadcast of 'The Source', Kaitlan Collins reported that President Biden is not only in isolation due to COVID-19 symptoms but also feels politically isolated as his party members publicly urge him to exit the 2024 race.

"The party that Biden has devoted his life to is unleashing a new and really public effort to push him out of challenging Donald Trump for the White House," Collins noted. "A slew of House Democrats have joined two more prominent Democratic senators tonight in calling for Biden to step aside."

"All of it, we are told has President Biden seething tonight with much of his anger directed at Nancy Pelosi. That’s because some of the names that are calling for him to drop out of the race or her close allies and in the view from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, tonight where President Biden finds himself," she added.

Joe  Biden faces backlash on social media

Following the news of Biden's anger towards Pelosi, social media was rife with commentary.

"Et tu Nancy! Shakespeare 2024," one posted on X.

"He surrounded himself with snakes and liars. This was a natural result," another chimed in.

"I doubt he even understands much of anything swirling around him. Now, Jill? She would be seething," a comment read.

"West Coast Crime Family vs East Coast Crime Family," someone else quipped.

"Seeth[e] all you want Biden, your days are numbered," another remarked.
