WASHINGTON, DC: On Wednesday evening, July 3, President Joe Biden told a group of Democratic governors at the White House that he needs more sleep and plans to reduce his working hours, including avoiding events after 8 p.m. This comes despite earlier reports indicating that he is only fully operational between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The New York Times reported that the 81-year-old President acknowledged his need for more sleep, citing two participants of the high-stakes meeting and others who were informed about the comment.

Joe Biden quips that while his health is good, the issue is 'just my brain'

At the same event, when Hawaii Governor Josh Green asked about his health, Biden joked that while his health was good, the issue was "just my brain." The jest appeared to go over the head of at least one state leader present.

“President [George W] Bush went to bed at 9, and President [Barack] Obama made dinner at 6:30,” in a statement to The Times, Biden-Harris campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz commented.

He added, “Normal presidents strike a balance, and so does Joe Biden. Hardly the same rigor as Donald Trump who spends half of his day ranting on Truth Social about plans that would cause a recession and other half golfing.”

While President Bush was 62 at the end of his term in January 2009, and President Obama was 55 when he left office, President Biden, already the oldest president in US history, would be 86 years old if he completes a second four-year term.

In a report released on Thursday, July 4, by New York magazine, it was disclosed by long-term acquaintances of the first family that President Biden could no longer recall their names.

Additionally, there was at least one instance where First Lady Jill Biden prompted the president with a greeting for a Democratic mega-donor during a White House event.

“It hasn’t been good for a long time but it’s gotten so, so much worse,” a witness to the latter exchange was quoted as saying. “So much worse!”

Joe Biden criticized for his debate performance against Donald Trump

Furthermore, Biden has reportedly grown more difficult to reach and has been "cocooned within mounting layers of bureaucracy, spoken for more than he was speaking or spoken to," according to writer Olivia Nuzzi.

The startling disclosures regarding Biden's limitations emerged despite his public commitment to seeking a second term. This comes after a calamitous debate performance against the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump, on June 27 in Atlanta.

The president reportedly began the meeting with governors by announcing his campaign's continuation, which led to grievances from some anonymous participants who felt that Biden had preempted any meaningful conversation about the race's status.

Earlier this week, Biden attributed his subpar debate performance to his extensive foreign travel before the event, despite having been in the Eastern Time Zone for 10 days prior, which included a full week of preparation at Camp David.

Initially, the White House attributed President Biden's difficulties during the debate to a "cold," although it did not appear serious enough to prevent him from visiting a Waffle House and interacting with customers afterward.

Joe Biden's absent-minded mistakes and signs of fatigue during events

Two days later, Axios, quoting White House aides, reported that President Biden tends to make absent-minded mistakes and show signs of fatigue when participating in events scheduled before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m., as reported by New York Post.

As part of a series of events intended to serve as "both proof of life for concerned wealthy patrons of the Biden reelection [sic] effort and proof of the wisdom of their choices," Nuzzi reports, the Biden campaign hosted a fundraiser at New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy's home that same weekend.

“In total, his [Biden’s] remarks would last for exactly ten minutes,” she wrote, "Long enough to inspire confidence in his abilities, advisers hoped, but not so long that he was at increased risk of calling those abilities further into question.”

“The worry is not that Biden will say something overly candid,” the reporter added, “Or say something he didn’t mean to say, but that he will communicate through his appearance that he is not really there.”

Internet mocks Joe Biden

After President Biden suggested to Democratic governors the importance of more sleep and fewer working hours at night, netizens started reacting to it.

A user wrote, "Awesome, just what America needs a Part time President. This is beyond Shameful. Nov 5th can't come fast enough."

Another user questioned mocking, "Ok so who's running the country after 8pm ??"

A third commentator wrote, "Joe's going to miss the fireworks. They don't even start until after 8pm."

"Now you see why he doesn't stay too faraway from the white house. His sleep times are more important," one remarked.

A person said, "They don't call him sleepy joe for nothing."
