WASHINGTON, DC: An article published by the New York Magazine on Thursday, July 4, claimed President Joe Biden could not even remember the names of his longtime friends in social settings and that this was a "dark family secret" for many elite supporters.

The octogenarian's pathetic display during last week's debate against former President Donald Trump skyrocketed concerns regarding his cognitive ability to serve for one more term if elected. New York Magazine's Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi poured oil into the fire in her article, indicating Biden was on the decline.

The article titled 'The Conspiracy of Silence to Protect Joe Biden' was written after months-long interviews that sparked significant debate on social media, as per Fox News.

A part of the article read those "who encountered the president in social settings sometimes left their interactions disturbed. Longtime friends of the Biden family, who spoke to me on the condition of anonymity, were shocked to find that the president did not remember their names."

Nuzzi, who had covered the President numerous times, mentioned an account of a guest who was part of a White House event last year who allegedly admitted Biden was unable to survive the entire reception.

This made the guest "open to an idea that they had previously dismissed as right-wing propaganda: The president may not really be the acting president after all."

The New York Magazine correspondent also shared her experience of meeting with the 81-year-old.

She found him to be "uncanny" and looked like he was "not of this earth."

"This was true even in 2020. His face had then an uncanny valley quality that injectable aficionados call 'low trust' — if only by millimeters, his cosmetically altered proportions knocked his overall facial harmony into the realm of the improbable," she wrote.

In addition, Nuzzi gave a vivid description of Biden's face, which changed every month. According to her, his thin skin was now "pulled tightly over cheeks," and its volume varied every month. The President's face had an "unnatural gleam" when he stood below sunlight or artificial light.

"He looked, well, inflated. His eyes were half-shut or open very wide. They appeared darker than they once had, his pupils dilated. He did not blink at regular intervals," Nuzzi continued.

The allegations put forth by the correspondent contradicted both Biden and the White House's claims that the President was mentally fit.

In his first televised interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos after the disastrous debate, the President reiterated he did not need a cognitive test because he was having one "every single day".

In addition, the White House also frequently defended Biden regarding questions about his mental fitness and his exit from the campaign.

Speaking on ABC News, the President also dismissed calls for him to drop out of the 2024 race and claimed that only "Lord Almighty" could influence him to make that decision.

Internet reacts to report Joe Biden doesn't remember names of longtime friends

Netizens mocked the President in light of Nuzzi's report that claimed the octogenarian did not remember the names of his longtime friends.

"They better wear name tags next time," a user joked.

"He probably has to be reminded of his name quite often," another remarked.

"But, He's just having a bad day! It was passed he's nap time!" Joked a third user.

"Joe is one teleprompter failure away from the 25th Amendment," read a fourth response.

"He doesn’t remember his $ donors and that will be his demise," another person said.

"It wouldn't be surprising if he didn't remember his name," someone else chimed in.

"Can he remember nuclear codes?" another asked.
