Naomi had already revealed her pregnancy earlier this month November 5, posting a picture of herself showing off her growing baby bump which coincided with Election Day. She captioned the photo with a playful, “(We) voted,” alongside a smiley face emoji and an American flag, fueling excitement and anticipation among her followers.
This baby will be Joe and First Lady Jill Biden's first great-grandchild. Naomi, the eldest daughter of Hunter Biden and his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, made history in 2022 as the first presidential granddaughter to marry at the White House. She and Peter now reside in Georgetown, where she works as a lawyer in Washington, DC.
Naomi Biden honors family traditions with lilies of the valley on her wedding day
In another tribute to Naomi's bond with her mother, the bride carried Lilies of the Valley, a family tradition passed down from her mother's side.
The couple announced their engagement in September 2021 and confirmed in early 2022 that they had chosen the White House as their wedding venue. Their wedding was the first to take place on the White House grounds since 2013, when presidential photographer Pete Souza wed Patti Lease in the Rose Garden.
In a past interview with PBS Newshour, Naomi shared that her grandfather is the heart of the close-knit Biden family.
President Biden has always been open about the strong relationships he shares with his grandchildren. Just before his inauguration, Naomi, who also resides in Washington, D.C., told Today’s Jenna Bush Hager that she was excited to know her "Pop" would be living just a few miles away.
“We’ve grown up together,” she said. “He’s made sure that every single tradition, every holiday, we’re all together... I don’t think there’s been any decision, no matter how big or small, that we haven’t decided as a family.”
However, the couple’s baby boy will be the latest addition to the Biden family, marking another milestone for the presidential clan.
